1st Grow - Custom Room: Pineapple Chunk, Spc. Kush, Ice, G13, Hollands Hope

Lights came on couple hours ago, just checked em and its now very apparent the jacks classic is definitely helping the Holland's Hope. Thank goodness. Now hopefully it's not too late in the grow for em to have a somewhat decent yield. We'll see I guess.

So I haven't got any feedback on the soil + synthetic fertilizer quandary yet, so I'll just throw this out there..

For my next grow I'm planning on using the jacks all purpose during veg and jacks bloom booster during flower. For my growing medium I grabbed FFOF and plan to cut it 50/50 with non-ferted organic potting soil. Then amend with some perlite, d. lime, worm castings and some d. earth.

Sound decent? Feel free to suggest alternative soil amendments or base.

Maybe, some Azomite (for micro nutes), but that sounds like a good mix to me...

I add some blood meal and bone meal for a more "auto pilot" approach, but if you are feeding other full strength nutes along the way then they maybe something you can skip adding.

Hey Cas,

Yeah I'm still not certain yet. As you know, now I'm thinking the pine bark fines. By the way, you can purchase them at walmart. They're marketed as pine bark mulch. It's $3.28 for 2 cu. ft bag. "Greensmix pine bark mulch".

I'll likely blend 1 to 1 with either FFOF or regular organic soil, depends on if I'm going to go the auto pilot super soil method like you mention

Quick little bit of bud porn

Thanks for the tip on pine bark fines, i called around and didn't find anywhere that carried them. All sorts of bark mulch but no pine bark fines. That is why I just decided to go ahead and transplant the ladies without the fines... Nice bud porn! looks like they are coming along nicely!

Hey Cas probably the only place to find pbf in some places is landscape supply companies. That's why I'm using MG organic choice, because too f-in cold and too much snow...j

Right on J, I found several alternatives to pbf's, but they sounded like generic substitutes and I wasn't convinced of what I was really getting.

I ended up just buying some Happy Frog for a top dressing over the supersoil in the pots, it should do the job just fine. I will be looking to get some legit pbf's for the next grow. Thanks again for the recommendation and link bro...

Here's the clones for next grow so far:

The tray in back without labels are some habanero pepper and cucumber seedlings

The PBF that i found were what some of the people on gardenweb are using. Per Al on gw, PBF are commonly called pine bark mulch. PBF are also sometimes marketed as soil conditioner

Lookin good man, I like a good experiment... Curious how the PBFs do vs the standard soil.

How are the flowering ladies doing? Is the HH kicking into gear yet?
