just get a note book.

Everytime i check on them/make nutes ill write it down.

Mark the date, X amount of plants in veg, they get X amount of nutes

Next line X amount of plants in flower, they get X amount of nutes.

Then leave a little room by each to write in notes like deficiencies and the ph if you are having defs so you can see where along the way you did it right.

This is how it looks

DATE: X

9: DOG: G: X, M: X, B: X, additives: X

V: Day X pH: X Showing slight N def

4: DOG: G: X, M: X, B X, additives: X

F: Day X pH: X Needs more P/K

V for veg F for flower. GMB for grow, micro, bloom and additives i usually right each additive or an abbreviation like CM for calmag or SSU for snow storm ultra.

I burn each book after im done with it and get a hang of each strain. Just cause i record all my final weights to see what changes what.

If you were planning to run the same strain for a long time keeping such a log will take you above and beyond what could remotely be possible without one. You can dial a strain in down the last drop of nutes/supplements. If you remember my last grow was the accidental coco, ph issue, overnute mess. I was able to overcome that and still get a good harvest but it had a lot of challenges.

Now with this current grow being back in soil where I wanted to be. I had a plant start showing slight burn which I marked in my log and corrected for. But then I can look back the previous week and see where and how I actually started the burn and avoid that completely next time. Its good for dialing in a strain where you can pump maximum supplements into the plant without passing the threshold and burning them. When I grew in the 80's we didnt have a ton of strains to choose from, or at least I didnt. So one strain would be ran literally for years. That was the time I found these kind of notes to be so useful.

Now we seem to flop strains around a lot more frequently so you won't necessarily dial a strain in THAT close, but especially in soil you can still get a pretty good baseline of what you can do providing you keep your environments and growing style the same. Its funny that my grows are getting better than ever now but its not because I'm learning more its because I've come full circle with my growing. Back in the day I grew in soil, 5 gallon buckets, fairly large bushes and thats where I am again. I've tried a lot of different stuff since I picked up growing again a few years ago, (to ease the wife in) small containers, smart pots, cabinets, 12/12 from seed etc.

I do love hydro, I've tried every hydro method there is and even designed one of my own. Its fun just for the aspect of being different and I do like change but I can't seem to stay away from the dirt! If I do finally setup a hydro grow again, watch out though! LOL I kind of went on a tangent there. But was just throwing the back story in for me keeping logs. :)

Haha see i like growing mainly 1 strain.

Occasionally pop a freebie or toss a friends clone in the flower room corner to get some change in flavor.

but i really like nothing more than 1 pheno type from a mother and a nice even canopy. All the same nutes and all the same everything.

I usually run a strain for about a year and if it hasnt proven to me its worth it by then its gets tossed. And after about 6 months which is usually 2-3 harvests i have everything dialed in to where i dont need notes but like you said i take them in case i over/under do it one week.

Rascolots is NASTY!!! Might as well be the black DOG theres barely any purple left its so dark! Hope i get one half as nasty.

Lucky its still summer too because ill be able to really drop temps (if needed) to coax some purple out. Seems like they turn purp on their own though.

She still shows the burning from the Kapow! but, then again, she
has had zero bug issues too, so... :0)

Onward and upward,

Thanks Doc.

My camera cannot do this little Tea-Rose Bush justice.

It had no stretch to speak of and is practically solidifying. :0)

I cannot wait to taste it. I am finding that my tastes prefer a longer
matured weed.....the Sour Kosher (DNA) was amazing at 10 weeks!

If I wait a full 10 weeks, then I still only have two weeks to wait.
(and I am thinking that the Cheese Surprise might be ready a week early)

Yummy!

JD

P.S. I was about to add something like "Wow, but Smelly Cherry smells
a lot in Veg!" when I realized how stupid that would be....lol....well, it
does!

i stopped weighing up what i get ages back. i weigh it when it leaves lol
I never weigh the part of the harvest I'm smoking out of due to I don't want to know how much we smoke. I do weigh what I grew that I don't like so I can get rid of it all at once. In the gf's eyes, if I just sell the extras all at once I'm just growing smoke for us. But if I sell it a little at a time, I'm growing smoke to sell. WOMAN, it's the same thing if you ask me.
