I'm sopposed to meet with recruiter today so I can get my paperwork.
I'm going in to be a m.o.s (field medic).
I have to do a lot of training for it
I am nervous as fuck.

I'm going to read them over and over to make sure I'm OK with it.
I know once I sign I can't go back.

I would like to hear from vets and any current soldiers about basics and what we do there.

Also if possible the advanced training as well.

Just remember if it is not clearly spelled out in writing it isn't binding. Also check to see what your obligation is if you don't meet the requirements to be a medic. I spent 4 years in a MEDEVAC unit and I can tell you that those men and women have their shit together and they are self policing. That means high standards and no slackers, period. Good luck to you if you choose to serve as it is a noble endeavor. :weed:

I have nothing but respect for our men and women in the military, but with a president like we have, and what he and congress has done to veterans, I wouldn't personally join under any circumstances.

Seriously.

The pay is better. The training is better. The hours are better. And most importantly, you won't have to deal with all the g'damn BULLSHIT in the Army, including the fucked up "leadership". As a medic in the Army, you will spend the majority of your time doing non-medical bullshit, where as an EMT / PARAMEDIC, it's the exact opposite.

Lord knows the world could use more people focused on fixin' shit than breakin' shit, so if that's your calling, I'd stick to the civilian side where your time will be better spent, and better compensated.

I'm doing this for sure.

And civilian EMT don't appeal to me in the least.
The military is honestly the only thing I have ever really wanted to do.

I'm by no means a slacker and sober I got my shit on lock when I set my mind I do it

I will read it over and over for sure.

Only join the military if you like invading other countries in the name of war.
Nothing against vet's but hey have been lied to over and over and used as pawns for decades now. Believe little of what you see, none of what you hear and question everything.

I know some who enlisted, and said fuck that and left. Why? Because the military is all bullshit brainwashing. They don't know the first thing about shit yet they call you "worthless" and "piece of shit maggot" blah blah. Pshh, makes me laugh.

Go for a civilian EMT and ACTUALLY make a difference IN YOUR COUNTRY!

I made the mistake of enlisting and had to do my best to get discharged. Why? Because I am not down with killing INNOCENT people in the name of war. I enlisted to fucking HELP, not harm. Too many ego maniac narcissistic fucks IN POWER do enough damage AS IS. I do not regret my decisions nor will I ever do so. Now, I do what I can to EXPOSE the lies and cover ups my military and government have. Risky? Yeah, but well fucking worth it and so self pleasing.

With that said I still am doing it.
If I have to kill a combatant then I will just not an unarmed civilian.

I will relay a little story told to me from someone at the battle of Mogidishu.
In the middle of a firefight in the middle of the street a woman came running out of a building from the U.S. soldiers right. She had a baby in her arms and was screaming. The U.S. soldiers stopped shooting. She then threw the baby down in the middle of the street and pulled an ak out of her robes and started firing upon the U.S. soldiers.
The rangers did what they had to do. The baby was an unfortunate collateral damage. Tragic but war is tragic and you will kill innocent people. It's war, like minne said, the lines are blurred. Today your enemy is your friend one day and your enemy again the next.

Know that your MOS may change. They like to recruit saying you will be one thing then after basic they tell you nothing available in that MOS and they send you into a totally different MOS.

Military Occupation Specialty code. MOS. The marines are notorious for this.

Also prepare yourself to get help with pstd when you are done. Don't be afraid to seek help. I'm dead serious.

I have a couple friends that are just not the same as before they came back with ptsd .
Last year we had a hail storm and he thought he was back in Iraq.
I know what u mean and I will if need be.
