Very nice grow they should fill in that tent real nice with those big old pots.
looks super good I'm surprised it's you first grow.
Wow thanks man that means a lot. I've probably put in a good 50 hours studying this site over the last month or so and I've read 3 books front to back, maybe that's giving me an advantage! Lol the only problem is I'm really starting to run out of room to get around inside the tent. I'd give it another week or 2 and I won't be able to stand in there. Maybe I'll have to get a bigger tent for next time.

Ok so i watered last night with 1/2 strength flower nutes with a quarter ml of bud candy per gallon(6 gallons). This morning i could tell they had gotten bigger since last night. I spaced all the pots out a little more and now the entire tent is full. Hopefully they just start growing straight up.. I think I'm going to do another spray of sm90 again tonight to make sure I've gotten rid of the spidermites. Ill post pictures when my hps turns off tonight.

Beginning of week 2 of flower
startweek2flower.jpg

I raised the light to 25-30 inches above the canopy so it would have better light distribution

Damn looking great, I am digging that DP :) It can't hurt to be a little over prepared IMO when you live in the PNW. But you are this far so if your temps and humidity are squared away you should be good just keep that eye out.

Ha yeah that usually happens whenever I get a new strain it's hard to judge how much they will
stretch, but it doesn't look too bad from your pic like too crowded, they should be good, and give you
a nice harvest in 6 weeks.

Re arranged the plants in the tent so they would be more even and put all the tallest on the outside. This is the new order(left to right):
Top Row: Sour Diesel, Plushberry, Grand Daddy Purps
Middle Row: Raspberry Kush, Lavender, Deep Purple
Bottom Row: Deep Purple, Platinum Girl Scout Cookie, PGSC
day 13 flower canopy.jpgday13flowering canopy.jpg

The light is around 25 inches away from smallest plant, the very top of my GDP which is 35 inches is about 15 inches away from the light.
floweringday13.jpg I took the three shortest plants and put them on a couple pieces of wood to even out the canopy, seems to be working pretty good for now.

GDP flowering day 13.jpg This is the Grand Daddy Purps. Its the tallest at 35 inches.

raspberry kush flowering day 13.jpg Raspberry kush

sour d lower leaves flowering day 13.jpg This is the lower part of my sour diesel. Is this a deficiency or nute burn? A couple other plants i am growing have this on their lower leaves too but not this bad. Should i take them off?

I am going to feed them again tomorrow so i would like to know if that is nute burn or not because I dont want to over feed her again and cause more problems!

Watered today 6 gallons of almost full strength nutrients with 5ml per gallon of bud candy. PPM was 1285. I think this is a little high? We will see what happens tho i guess. My ph meter broke so i guess I'm not gonna worry about that anymore

Very nice strains bro looking pretty nice. Thanks for stopping through my page. I'm a big Cookies fan. Only thing I don't like is the yields are low. But shit if you have your stuff dialed in the quality is off the chains. Hit me up again. Think I'm going to start a new thread soon.

Definitely seeing a lot of bud growth in the last 3-4 days. Shitty phone quality but I'm gonna try to get a hold of a nice camera to get some hd pics.

Leaves seem a little droopy from my last watering. I think i over watered a tad bit.

I think i finally have my environment dialed in for flowering! This is my first grow so almost everything I'm doing is trial and error.
Daytime temp: steady 73-77 F
Daytime RH: 30-45%
Night-time temp: steady 68-63 F
Night RH: 38-50%

YES! Got my hands on a Canon EOS Rebel T2i today, my buddy uses this thing for snowboarding pics and he loves it.

Anyways, here is my first attempt at photography, I'd say it went pretty well!

I thought I might as well take some pics of hardware too..

Anybody out there??

So i went to the hydro store the other day and picked up a carbon filter, a hps bulb for when i flip to flower, and a water reservoir setup because I was getting tired of watering with a bunch of milk jugs!! I do have a couple questions though.

Is this how you correctly install a carbon filter? I have no experience with these..

It says its the best digital ballast bulb?? but I think I have a magnetic ballast that's kinda big and chunky.. Will this bulb work with my ballast?

As long as you're sucking air through the filter then you'll be fine. Basically you want to suck air through the filter, the cooling hood/light,through the fan and finally, outside. To me it looks like it's installed OK.

As for the digital bulb in the magnetic ballast; you may have a problem there. Digital ballasts operate at a higher frequency of around 200hz, vs the 60hz of the magnetic ballast. The mismatch of the frequency may cause the bulb to burn out early or even explode. You should have an automatic fire extinguisher in the tent..just in case. I have 2 4x4X7 tents and each one has a fire extinguisher.

I can still kinda smell dank when i go up next to the exhaust end point on the outside of the window. Is this because of the way its installed? or is there always gonna be somewhat of a smell?
As for the light, i kind of figured the life of the bulb would be affected. I appreciate the numbers though that clears things up. Its been running good since day one so I'm gonna use it till it breaks I guess.

I always have a little smell from my filter exhaust but it's very minimal. The bulb should probably be OK but may have a reduced life. A recent High Times article talked about magnetic vs digital bulbs and ballasts.

nice grow dude.

i have a 4' 7" square tent but i use a 600 watt. i used a 1000 watt in a 5 x 5' closet for years. i just don't need that much yield anymore. don't need the heat problems either.

when i was doing seedlings and looking for something special to clone, i'd flower 18 to 20 in the tent.
like this -

2vj93mg.jpg

the light was just going on so it doesn't look like they all get decent light but they do. it is high enough to give some love to all the plants. i just rotate them every watering. i was pulling about 1 oz per plant.

Are the lights to far from the canopies? (Currently 20inches away from the tallest plant)
i'd get them as close in as i could, where it's high enough for everything under the light to get light.
the hand test is used to see if the light is too close. hand under light at plant top height, if you don't get hot, it's a decent height for the plants.

Do I need more air circulation?
i keep my tent open so i just have one fan at the front.

Do I really need Co2?

no!

Any feedback on the nutrients? I know its probably not a very popular brand, but i got it for free!

lots of good stuff out there. i've used fox farms, botanicare, dutch masters, general hydroponics and others i forget. i keep wandering back to advanced nutes. it works for me, and the proof is in the pudding.

Would another oscillating fan be good on the other side of the room?
air circulation is a good thing. not heavy air currents, just a nice moving breeze.

Any ball park of when i should start flowering? (2 weeks since i picked up clones that were all about 8 inches tallAre the lights to far from the canopies? (Currently 20inches away from the tallest plant)

depends on a lot of things. if you want a crop in 2 months, sooner is better. i usually let my clones/seedlings get to be 2 months old as they wait for the currently full flower room to empty.

good luck and don't over think things.

Damn dude only a 600w for 18-20 plants? What were your yields like? Picture looks nice and green tho so i cant argue with that! I'm limited to 15 plants since I'm a med patient unfortunately.. BUT, my girl has her card and she wants me to grow her 15 plants for her :bigjoint: so im gonna try and get a purpetual 15 in flower, 15 in veg going before summertime.

But thanks for answering specific questions from earlier posts, i appreciate it. Rep+ for your time sir.
