Yellow spots on my weed?

Hey all,

So a few weeks ago I bought some really nice bud, however it was still damp.

The problem was, I was leaving for a trip for 2 weeks and couldn't leave it out as people would be watching my house for me.

The guy I get my bud from recommended I put a dessicant in my container to dry it out while I was gone.

When I got back, it had these little yellow spots on it.

Any idea what these are? When I wipe at it it comes off like it's dust.

I don't know of any mold that looks like that, so I was thinking that maybe the trichomes dried up too much with the dessicant?

i think u made the right decision....it sucks having to throw out a half, but im know smoking mold can really mess u up...not exactly sure what it will do, but it def will have negative effects

depending upon the mold, it can harm your central nervous system, cause harmful affects to the brain, and in some cases mold can be fatal, it can also give you effects similar to bells palsy, and mental retardation...

edit: but i doubt any of the most commonly found molds on buds in the amount we smoke after being hit with flame will have such negative affects..

Good decision to throw it out, it looks like you got some bud with your mold there. Oil extraction would still be an option imho.

most molds will give you some serious coughing, irritate your lungs and taste really bad. It looks really bad and you should be glad you didn't even try to smoke it.

Pretty sure ive been smoking moldy weed for the past week. Just busted out the magnifying glass to see if i could spot them and sure enough.... not alot like yours but they are there.

I also have been having subtle pain in my chest from smoking this so i fucking flushed the garbage and gonna try to get better stuff...

I know this is almost 5 years old, but you should have punched dude in the face who sold you that as he clearly sprayed it to weigh it down cause if that was at the source it would have been moldy when you got it.
