Sup guys, sorry for the profanity but I'm heated. I decided to do the sea of green method, so about a month ago I planted a Northern light strain. She was going to be my first mother plant. But as I lay next to her right now I see bout 5 pistills emerging. WTF, I'm confused. Got the seed from Nirvana. "Female Northern Light". This can't be an auto. If it is I transplanted her. Anyway does this mean I can't take cuttings?
Thanks

Nahh, go ahead, take the cuttings. Plants pop pistals when they become mature. In a way its a good thing, at least you know its going to be a girl. I have a strain right now that almost looks like its flowering after a 3.5 month veg. It makes it real easy to undercut the larf because you can see right where its not going to bud :):):)

Okay i understand, but my plant is barely a foot tall.
Wasn't planning on taking cuttings for another 3 weeks to a month. Will I still be able to take cuttings then? She might be in full bloom by that time. Or should I just start another mother plant and hope she doesn't bud so early.
Thanks

Your seed could have gotten mixed up. If your plant is an auto then there is no point cloning it.
If not, then it is just showing preflowers. You should be able to tell within a week or so, because if it is going to auto on you, then it will have pom poms at the tops of its branches by then. Photos can definitely produce pistils while vegging, tho.

I have a strain that actually starts to form buds under 24 if it veges long enough. it won't go full on flower but it does get buttons. makes cloning it take a while cause of reveg time on the cuttings (the cuttings will acrually flower before rooting even if the mother doesnt show signs of flower yet).
