Will tape hurt my plant?

How's it going everyone got a question about tape, about two months ago I tried to bend my plant to get more sun in the middle I had topped my plant ages ago when she was growing so it had a Y and when I was bending it I bent it too far and snapped it down the middle of the Y about 5cm I quickly ran to the shed and get electical tape and taped the Y together it's been on there for about two months and yesterday I took it off to see how it was healing and it's almost healed still a bit of a split not as big though so I taped the spilt up completely so it can't pull across is tape fine to use? I've dressed her out a bit she has gone a bit yellow but is starting to green up again thanks!

i have snapped many plants trying to get that extra bend and used tape. Most tapes are gonna loose grip do to moisture, and the plants growth. All ur trying to do is keep it from breaking more. Last run the one i snapped down the Y and duck taped put off just as much as the rest did.

Yup, it's fine. I like to use a piece of straw I slit down the middle. I wrap the straw around the stem and then tape the straw. The straw supports the break nicely and tape holds it tightly in place. No worries. Here's how it should heal

zip ties help too, make sure you cut them after it heals make sure the stem dont get "strangled" by the ziptie cut it
