I think if we could get back to the gold standard without collapsing the economy, there really wouldn't be a need for Bernie Sanders ideas. If people could afford these things with out having to take tax money from others to pay for the services, I think they would rather have the pride of being able to pay for it, rather than hand outs. The way it is now, I can see why there are a lot of sanders supporters, I mean back in the 60s, minimum wage was something like $1.25 /hr. They had silver quarters. So 5 silver quarters. Those quarters today would be much over 12$ an hr, probably closer to $16. Our money is broken. That is the point of this thread.

Not many people would actually walk up to strangers and take their money.. But, more and more people today wouldn't mind the government doing that for them, to give them things they want.. It's the same thing, whoever is taking money from someone, if you're the one receiving it.. But I guess there's less shame if the government does it rather than doing it yourself. It shouldn't even have got to this point.

Now look. Trump and Hillary. Ugh.

I mean I've heard Bernie sanders compared to Robin Hood. The problem with this is Robin hood took the tax money from the government and gave it back it to the rightful owners. Bernie is taking it from the owners and giving it to the government to use however they see fit.. Big difference. I'm not rich, but I feel people should be able to keep as much money as they want, if they earned it. Yeah, some rich people are greedy, but so are poor people. I just don't understand why people that kicked ass in life (as I mentioned, 80% or more rich people are self made, no inheritance, we're broke before they came in to wealth and we're just creative, innovative mofos who worked their asses off, usually taking out a second mortgage on their house just to get their idea created) - that is NOT a reason to tax them more imo.

I personally would like to walk in with some chopsticks, stab the food in front of them, lick it all down, and drop it back on their plate. But, I likely wouldnt get through the front door with my flip flops on

I feel the same too, there are other ways to maintain our infrastructure. State tax is fine, I'm more opposed to federal tax that goes usually to things that we have no part of!

Lol, it was just a metaphor really, but in hindsight I posted it that way just to see how fed up people are with wages / the extremes people are willing to go now. I mean, I'm poor but I have pride and just feel like I'll get to the point I'd like to be at by working as much as I can. Little by little.. With some big ass steps down the road. II'll admit I'm disabled at the moment but should be off disability soon. I like that there are systems in place like that for when you really need it, but I paid in a Hella lot, so I guess I'm paying myself back now? Hell, it was my money to begin with, but through taxes, it was taken from me, now it's a hand out when I need it back? I think if I was able to keep it then I wouldn't even have to mention it haha

My fucking money ya know, why Im I penalized to use MY own money at whatever time I like to use it. No, set up like that so all these dumb motherfuckers (pointed at no one here) we got programed will work until they are dead with nothing to show for it

EDIT: Yes I am NOT one of those dumb motherfuckers as I WONT do that. Life is meant to live and enjoy

That is totally a scam bro! Take your money, then tax it, then take more when you want it back, wtf? My finance went through the same exact thing last year with her 401k smfh! It's so ridiculous! Penalized for withdrawing it early because they are using it for the nation debt or some shit, I swear there are so many corrupt things going on that most people don't even notice. Too many robots unfortunately :( like people are happy at tax time to get a "refund"? Seriously? You're excited to get your own money back at the end of the year? If a friend borrowed money and took a year to pay it back, I wouldn't be happy, I would be pissed it took a year to get it back lol

tell me more about how you hate federal taxes while you cash your disability check.
You mean the money I paid in that the government figured they needed to hold on to for me? 8k a year for about 10+ years? Yeah, sure, I can tell you all about it. Let's see, if I were to put that money into investments, well, I'd have 10x as much now. Thanks social security! You're excellent!

Then again.. I forgot that hard working adults are clearly labeled as young children that can't handle money. So the government has to step in like a mommy and say, now now, you can't have that money you earned yet, you'll need it later so let me just hang on to it for you, kiddo.

Penalize you for making withdrawls of your own fucking money so that they can regulate when you die. Wait until you are too motherfucking old to get your own money that way you can pass it on to a relative so that it can be taxed again. Or so old you go into a retirement home and give it all back. Fuck that.
