You forget, I've taken gunfire in support of that right too. I didn't DIE, but hey, I think it's simply wise to make the other guy die for his country, instead of me dying for mine. And, so what? It's just a fact. No third-party candidate will get even a single electoral vote, which means they don't matter. If you think I'm wrong about that, care to make it interesting and put your money where your mouth is? I'll put $100 on it, and I'll cover ten people, betting that McCain and Obama get every single electoral vote. If no one is willing to take me up, well, then you're just blathering.
And my word is absolutely good. I once bet a guy that Spock wouldn't come back after Wrath of Khan. Well, a year or two later, there was Spock again. I paid the guy immediately after seeing the movie. He'd forgotten all about it and was shocked when I handed him the money, couldn't figure out what it was for until I explained. He laughed (but he did take the money).
Any takers? Easy money if you believe what you say you do. Heck, you could go out and help drum up enough support to help someone get one electoral vote, whoever you want. Obviously, I've lost bets before, and I could be totally wrong. But I don't think I am, and I'll put money on it. In this case, I would not mind being proved wrong and losing the bet. I wish third-party candidates did matter.
