yes, cut holes in the bottom for drainage.. and i would say you can keep them in those solo cups for maybe three or so weeks before you have to worry about them getting root bound.. my last grow i left em in the cups for a lil too long and they definitely got stunted a lil from being root bound... won't let that happen again..

yeah u cut holes to allow drainage so ur roots dont get flooded as any excess water wont have anywhere to go.
hope this helps.

dude, you can do the whole grow and leave them in the solo plastic cups all the way through flowering until harvest. Look around the forums.. there are a few people that have done solo cup grow journals.

I myself grew my very first plant years ago.. with a single reg. seed.. and one single solo cup. I didn't get much after the harvest dried.. I think I got a little over a quarter ounce. :) But hey, I was happy with that.. especially with it being my first grow ever.

peace.

I'm going to start using hydro buckets, with advance nutes. Now since I'm just goingto have the roots of the plant hang in thewater with an air pump to keep the water moving with ox. My question is, since this is different from flood and drip systems do you use less nutes?? Since the water is going to be touching the roots at all times?
