WHAT'S YOUR DREAM LIGHTS

If money was not an issue, electricity was free, and you can have any light you wanted, let's say for a 4x4 tent! what kind of set up would you run!

also since money is an issue for most ppl, and electricity isn't free, and a lot of us can't build a light to save our lives, what light would you choose then! and why!

I have Been researching for months now, I've always used 1k hps, they grow amazing bud, but replacing the bulbs, plus the heat, and the amount of electricity they eat up it has become kind of an issue for me running 3 of them!

so I've been very interested in using a cob set up, unfortunately I just don't get it amd wont be abke to build it! Im not good with anything like that, regardless of how many videos and threads I've been on and watched!

so I've been leaning towards the hlg600, it's about $750 built and shipped with a dimmer nob. would cover a 4x4 very well, runs great on electricity I could run 3 of them cheaper than running 2 hps! the heat wouldn't Be an issue at all compared to my hps, but I'm concerned about the density and trichome production that I will get with this light compared to my hps!

the lights would be a dedicated flower light, everything about the hlg seems almost perfect for me, I'm just very worried I will have to add some sup. light or deep reds just to get the ending product I want (basically what u get with hps) and that would cost more money and more cost to run, which would make it not worth it for me considering the price of everything!

i want a compact & lightweight 500W commercial light with 301b's & daisy chain.
Reason: to replace 750W gavita's

16 Luminus COBs, 8-3000K, 8-4000K, ran at 35watts each.

I run just 4 in a 3.5x3.5 at 250 watts and its very satisfying.

Half of my first LED grow.

I don't know, I have a few HLG lights, COBs, cmh and had HPS/mh for many years.. I think if I wanted new lights I would try a fixture by ChilLED just for fun to see how it stacks up.
I like lots of lights like the timbers and the BCblondes but I just don't need any lights and have recently downsized for discretionary reasons. Guess I will just have to live through other growers..

Have a search on here for "does anyone grow weed around here" thread, im sure there are some great examples of solid dense buds on there. I don't buy into the less dense myth, never found it the case at all. My lighting outperformed my old HPS growing and was no less dense or beautiful. I also don't think its needed to supplement the white spectrum, but we like to geek out in the LED build world and im sure tailoring a spectrum one way or another is not wasted, nor is it a necessity though.

Something else to consider is more 1000w hps guys grow trees and more LED guys grow bushes but that's just preference I believe because I have seen the reverse done.

Oh I would like to try a DE Gavita just so I could see for myself. But again I likely never will.

That amare sb800 looks like a quality light.

I’d go with some type of strip build. I think it’s cool when I see other users and your tents look like spaceships to me because of the lighting.

Support inferior weed?

I would have to try out the Growmau5 Puck from Rapid LED or Pacific Light Concepts strips. The flowers grown with COBs are impressive in my book. Been using Vero 29's for 3 years and never a problem. Have QB 360's and QB 288's. Hell, you can grow decent bud with rolls of Chinese strip lights. lol
