Whats Better 8-54W t5 or 400/600W HID with HPS bulb for flowering stage

LED > HID > T5.
I agree LEDs are the next generation of grow lights however they are out of most people's price range and are not fully developed to their potential (IMO!!!). I see a giant leap for LEDs soon.... Although I will still be running both MH and HPS HIDs lol.

And I don't blame you because I use HID and LED because of the costs. Just can't afford to go all LED yet coverage is a problem.

there are several reasons, one is the way the light diffuses, but the #1 thing is being able to tweak the spectrum, I have UV and deep blue basically it is easier to replicate the spectrum of the sun in the tropics
Do you add more red/HPS spectrum towards the very end weeks of flowering to simulate the natural cycle of the sun? I noticed your T5's are mainly evenly mixed.

I use a MH bulb that is NOT enclosed in glass. That gives off UVB rays. So my 1k hps and 600w MH wouldnt produce the same quality? Given the spectrum, UVB, and the similar light diffusion (higher elevated HID w/ B/W poly = same as lower T5's, yes?)
it's similar but not as intense and your light combo is way better for quality than just HPS by itself, if you put bare skin a foot under my lights you could get sun burn

no, and I actually just recently changed the ratio as I'm gonna grow some land race sats

So considering my grow style (Both UVB/MH and HPS) you would say generally we have the same quality/effect? With the assumption we are only considering light as a variable?

THERE YOU GO BRO! Cmon admit it... I got my bases covered ;) bongsmilie

Ps: Pet stores have UVB CFL's for reptiles if you are looking to add this alledged "UVB" spectrum to your grows.

Nope the UV cfls are crap, the lizzard lights are crap, I have only found 2 bulbs that actually work and they are both T5's my ATI's are designed to penetrate 3 feet of water

GOOD INFO! Im currently hydro. I run Dutchmaster Flower, Root Zone Conditioner (switching out for hydroguard possibly), Cal-Mag, and Silica. I know I cover sulfur in my organic grows but I will honestly admit I am unsure if it is covered under those hydro nutes that I use.

You got it right RM3. I am a medical user and am only interested in quality that is best described as 1-hit fire. Which is The main reason I started this thread. Thank you!

Good sir I actually followed you into a different forum but sadly couldnt see any of the pictures due to not being a member. I find your growing methods to be intriguing.

I have already looked at some of your links RM3. I read somewhere that for bloom a hps and uvb were the best combination. Although that was all that was said. I'm very thankful you shared your knowledge with me and have given great insight on lighting. Newton stated,"If I have seen further it's because I stand on the shoulders of giants." If you have time I would love your thoughts on my grow itself, hopefully your knowledge will give me a great view.:confused::confused::idea::idea::idea:bongsmilie:hump:
