what strains are powdery mildew resistant?

looking for some great strains that are powdery mildew resistant. had pm last time and it was a pain in the ass. looking for some stronger strains until i build a superior room. any suggestions would be appreciated.

I had PM myself on my last run and it was a real pain in my ass! It originated on one of my Mendo Afgoo plants right before I switched to flower but I got it under control and didnt see it return until week 5-6 of flower. By this time it had spread to the other mendo afgoo and both of the white widow plants that were next to it. Of my six plants, only the two PURPLE DIESEL weren't affected by this pesky disease even though they were all in close proximity to one another (4x4 hydrohut). I think purple strains are heartier and more resistant to disease in general so go with those unless you're tired of smoking purps cause everyone and their cousin is growing it!

i thought i had environment perfect with 40% humidity and max 79 temp but it appeared in week 5 of flowering. it was a clone so could have gotten it that way or from clothing but either way. i dont want to see that stuff again. purple diesel sounds interesting. thx for the feedback and hope to get more. i do have barneys farm pineapple chunk, says its mold and disease resistant. anyways, would like 2-3 more strains

Preventative preventative all about not getting in the first place a plant can have pm weeks before it shows sings and u can not kill it. Just keep it at bay I like to use actinovate foliar and water with it

The Purps is extremely mold resistant, I've grown it out and witnessed this first hand.
Lately I have read that Chernobyl by TGA is also extremely mold resistant, according to an outdoor grower that had his crop in a swamp.
I believe that the mold resistance comes from the BloodWreck side of the Chernobyl cross, so the same should apply to TimeWreck and QrazyTrain.
I hope this helps, good luck.

i found chernobyl to be resistant not only to PM but with botrytis and other kinds of molds that effected some of my other plants.... or those other plants(PE auto, Haze, Aurora indica) had terrible resistance. it could go either way, but i'm gonna go ahead and say the chernobyl is resistant

Right now, I'm fighting a losing battle with PM. I just hope I can keep it from taking over for a couple more weeks. I'm an outdoor grower, so not much I can really do other than spray the plants. With 80+% humidity and winds gusting at 3mph, PM is inevitable.
Best to have a strain with a shorter flowering period if you think disease will be an issue.

grape krush was great for not getting pm. granddaddy clone only is another. those strains arent excellent for botrytis.

Ouch, that's some tough growing conditions. I gave up outdoors after 2 X 5ft dia trees died from pm back when I didn't know how to fight it.

Try 3% H2O2, probably late afternoon so as not to have sun heat amping it up and burning the plants

Food Grade H2O2 is 35%, 1:11 = 3%

You might need to repeat a few times.

Also add silicone

If you are in flower, you need to make sure it dries completely before dark- wet plants at night are probably how they get pm in the first place

Texada Timewarp is supposed to be very resistant. Originally from Texada Island in B.C., it's supposedly a legend, very easy to grow. B.C. Bud Seeds has it but I'll try the Alternative version from Hemp Depot. I'm considering it for next year. Also, as NietzcheKeen said, I look for 8 week flowering times (or less).

ive planted 5 seeds from 1 plant in 1 big bucket, all where white widdow crossed with Shaman High, i know for a fact that strain isnt everything, i have one white widdow which turned purple which has no mold at all while other non purple turning white widdows do have mold and budrot.

One was indica dominant and leaning towards the Shaman High side, these plants and the shaman high dont really get any rot, the leaves die off but they dont start to rot they just dry out.

These plants where all outside in a northern dutch climate, with a pretty crappy end of the summer i still have some good weed and i now know you should avoid sativa dominant strains unless they tend to turn purple because those plants have genetic roots in colder climates.

Peace
