Weird puff of smoke when I crack open a bud

Hi guys when I cracked one of my buds open I got like a weird puff of smoke come out of the Bud. It's not in all of my plants. It's Just some of the bigger buds. Is it powdery mildew? I must of smoked about 1 ounce and I have only just noticed it on this new pheno type I am smoking with fatter nugs. I think Because I had so many plants in my grow room, about 10 plants in a 1 meter grow room I got the start of powdery mildew? like, maybe in week 8 of flowering I could of got the start of powdery mildew and didn't notice it just before I harvested? My buds are caked in THC, it's in house genetics those strains are always really frosty, it smells really nice weed and I don't see any mould. I'm just paranoid that powdery mildew could be inside the buds??

Might be. Sounds like mold to me. What does the inner part of the bud look like inside near the stem? Sad to hear friend

the inner part of the bud looks good, the stem looks healthy, I cannot see any mould or anything. And it smells super nice and its covered in THC. I used a Humidifier at the start of Veg could it be a calcium build up or something like that and the calcium dust got inside the bud maybe? I even sat here and pulled a 4 gram bud apart and i couldn't find any signs of mould. You can see my weed in my profile picture, it don't look like it's got any mould. just a weird puff of smoke when i cracked the bud in half. The weed is so frosty maybe I cannot see the powdery mildew because there is so much THC, it's in house genetics and those strains are always frosty? It's only when I crack open a massive nug that the puff of smoke comes out, the small nugs don't do it. what should I do? could it be the start of powdery mildew in the big nugs? And do you think could it of started at the end of flowering maybe bro?

I am panicking right now I don't want the powdery mildew to spread. (That's even if it is powdery mildew???) Should I move the already dried out plants to another place? The ones without powdery mildew??? Like... all the weed is already dry. Can it spread to the healthy dried plants? I'm so confused on what to do right now.

From a little bit of research, powdery mildew and mould are two different things and powdery mildew cannot infect you like mould can. Luckily for me I think I got powdery mildew in the last week of flowering and it hasn't affected the weed. The only thing it does is give out a weird puff of smoke when you crack a large bud. Other than that it smells good and looks good. So I think I am safe, but only just!!!

I cannot see any mould but when I cracked the bud in half a puff of smoke came out. Could it be ever so slightly mouldy that it is not visible to the naked eye???

I wouldnt smoke that shhh. The dilemma doesnt worth the risk. Some parts are smokeable but there might be scattered spores.

I had a similar issue it smelled 'mostly' good, looked fire but when i checked much closer there were some kind of diamond looking small round little lumps around. I still got it in the jar observing the mold. Its another world in there LOL

I think you're just fucking high and in need of some attention.

Poof of smoke is mold spores. Do not smoke. Do not turn into concentrate. Do not collect $200 when passing GO

If you noticed a puff when cracking a bud open its likely moldy on the inside. Show us the inside of the nug. PM wont spread on already dried plant material, only bad types of mold do.

This is the bud that went POOF! It don't look mouldy to me but it did go POOF! And smoke came out of it. But all I see it is trichomes

Not that I'm making concentrates or anything. But decarbing would kill mold right? Then you could make oil or tincture with it right?
Or not fucking ever?

I'm going to smoke it, fuck it! it smells too good to get rid of it

Well that's a good point to be fair, I heard that anything over 90F kills powdery mildew so I guess the flame on my lighter will do the trick!
