Weak branches.
I have one variety out of several
that produces very flimsy secondary
branches.

I use a soil that contains all the basics
usually gardner n bloome blue ribbon.

Im wondering if there is an organic
product to assist.
I know knox unflavored gelatin used to be
believed to strengthen stalks but I never hear of it anymore so for all I know it was debunked.

Thats it, if you want more info I can provide it.
I guess I should say the branches are very elastic as in not brittle but saggy.

I support them with mechanical means.

I have fans going.

A silica supplement will help. Many use Pro-Tekt. It's not officially labelled organic, but silica IS technically approved for organic use in certain situations. It won't hurt your microbes.

I 2nd this! Many do use Pro-Tekt including myself.

I read in revs book TLO that rice added to the super soil mix will give silica. And also feed the microlife. Or as he calls them the microbeasties

Rice is high in silica. I've never heard of adding actual rice grains, but rice hulls are gaining popularity as an amendment. Horsetail is another plant that's very high in silica. I add a little sprinkle of horsetail powder into my soil. I also use a lot of rice straw in my worm bins for a little extra Si.

Is this a strain you have previous experience with and as such know the weak stems are an "issue"?

There are many strains which are just viney, no real strength to the branches, and have to be tied up less they just double over from the weight of the bud.

Another area of the book i found some more info still nothing about silica even though i know its high in it. Also i guess it was a certain type of rice ...idk i cant get rid of this second attachment of the same pic lol sorry for that my phone doesnt work right on this site...spicy how often do you have to use the protekt and at what stages?

Yeah I have grown it twice now and it does appear to be that plant specifically.
I feed it the same as the others and its the only one that is all rubbery.
I definatly have to support it greatly.

Its not a deal breaker I was just hoping
I could fix it

I don't follow a set schedule with the Pro-Tekt (or anything else, for that matter). I just use it maybe 2-4 times total throughout veg and flower; more if the strain I'm growing tends to have floppy branches, less if the branches are already sturdy. Some use it with every watering and have no issues whatsoever. I usually just give plain water, but sometimes I add Pro-Tekt, Ful-Power (humic and fulvic acid), and aloe.

Don't expect the Pro-Tekt to magically fix that thing for you. It'll help, but something tells me that plant just wants to grow that way...

Thats what I was wondering since its the only one.
I'm still gonna try the protekt after reading about the other benefits.

If that plant didn't put out so much good smoke I'd ditch it.

Don't know if you had said but what strain is it?

I didn't use silica this time on the strain I am growing and notice a difference for sure, they were drooping 2-3 weeks sooner then they were last harvest with smaller nugs. I haven't run a true OG but I hear they are super viney. I think that's where my plant gets it from :)

Edit : Wow you said like 2 posts above, that bowl hit me pretty good I guess :)
