Howdy all. @ViparSpectra graciously offered to send me a ks3000 to test out a grow with! Thanks so much viparspectra!
We had a little bump in the road, where the delivery service (amazon) damaged the initial package and we were set back a little bit while waiting for some answers on what happened. Once the light re shipped, I had it the next day!
Ok! So, first impression.... Wow ok big box lol.
Very well packaged. No room for wiggling around during shipping. Lots of good foam padding to protect.

Opening her up;
Nice! Clean looking and sleak (not that the plants care much)

The driver is large, and heavy. I do wish they decided to use a meanwell or sosen driver but, the reason behind me saying that is that's what I'm used to using. Change is well, an unknown..... It's listed as a 'ul driver'

Alright so right off the bat. I (usually) hate these connectors.

BUT this one is a wee bit different and threads together with decent male and female threads. Connection is SOLID.

What I like;
- I am really interested using the samsung lm301h diodes. These are def top bin components, so that's kinda why I wish they went with a better driver. (Again I have NO experience with these ul drivers so I can't say they're good or bad. I just don't know yet).
Osram 660nm make up the (hyper) red.

- well built, sturdy construction.

- on the money with wattage outputs. (Pics below for killawatt test)

- price is fair, with some really good discounts available as well.

- really good warranty period (2 yrs)

- better connectors than other competitors brands.

-folds for easy storage/protection of the led bars

- Hanging clips on the inside! So the light will go wall to wall in a 3x3 and you can get a wee bit better height with the hanging method. Key for me in short ceiling situations. That's really sweet.

Ok. What I don't like.

- huge shipping box. I mean this thing was in an Amazon box that could have shipped a fridge! I know it was the delivery service who double boxed up the pkg but I mean they could have picked a small size box.

- could use a better driver maybe?

- connection cable. I just really hate those 3 pin connectors. Although this one is MUCH better than others I've seen/used and I do feel it is safe I just personally prefer a solid old school plug connector.

- don't like that the driver doesn't mount onto the frame of the light.
You're sorta left to figure out where to hang this thing if you want it in or out of the tent which is a bit annoying but not a deal breaker.

- dimmer switch isn't free. You're stuck to only certain %'s. Which can be ok, I just personally like to be able to dial back to eg 72% not just 75.

Really so far that's the only things I've seen that sort of made me think hmm I kind of don't like these things.

And I gotta do it guys and gals(and theys and thems), here's some info on the fixture.

KS3000 Product Key Features:

(1) Top Models of Top Brands Diodes:
Samsung LM301H PPE is 3.10 μmol/J, which is higher than the LM301B. SAMSUNG designs LM301H for Horticulture. KS3000 uses LM301H for Your Harvest.
(2) Even PAR Distribution, Boost Yields to Higher Level:
The PPFD in a 3x3 tent is from 744 to 1000μmol/m²/s, which meet the flowering needs. KS series bring big earns to every grower.
(3) Excellent PPE: 2.38 μmol/J
(4) Larger Size than Other Brands:
The size of the KS3000 is 32"x32", ensure every plant from the corner to the center in 3x3 tent has enough light and get more harvest.
(5) Dimmer Knob: Easy to change your light intensity, from between 0% to 100%.

Looking forward to your readings.
Been using this light for a little over a month now. Plants look good so far, but my android photone app shows readings WAY under their par map. More than a few inches it produces maybe 600 at best (full power). At around a foot maybe 500.
Really hope it's just my phone but it's a new Samsung. Will try another phone here shortly.

get a good par meter.
Agree with that statement 100000%. It's like checking your gas tank by rocking your car .... Swoosh skoosh sloosh. 'Hmmm about a 1/4 tank.'
Don't laugh.... My cluster panel went kaput on my old sierra and I had no speedometer, gas gauge or batt meter. The rpm guage would start at random spots on the dial and bury itself lol. I had to use my phone with a GPS speedometer and had to judge my gas by resetting the 'trip' on my tac and counting kilometers lmao.
Needless to say, I was left stranded fairly often. Hahaha. The good ol' days huh
