Upgraded to 600 hps from LED??

Good day to you all ,

Upgraded my LED grow to HPS after 1 LED unit blew a driver, I had a few high power CFL's' but the heat in my 2x2 was unmanageable with 2x LEDS and 1x 250watt CFL.

Im not using the 2x2 with the 600 hps for obvious reasons' but I am using a make shift cabin out of a old 4x4 tent that was compleatly "F___ed" so I chopped up all the mylar and constructed my own tent that measures 2"x4"x5.7" I've got roughly 8ft of floor space , so 600÷8=75w sqf.

Heat was a problem at first ' but now I have a few "oscilating fans the temp's are staying around 76f/81f lights on and 65f/69f when there off.

My strain is a BLUEDREAM variety that is heavy on the indica side with a lot of resin production early on at day 27 flower.

I have another of the same pheno type that was veg'ed for 2weeks longer and is now in the flowering space with the other two.

I had a few problems with under feeding ' but now things seen to be going ok.

I'm curious" will the hps increase bud size or will that just keep growing to the same size as if thay were still under the LEDS?

I will add a few pictures later tonight when lights come on , feel free to comet on anything or ask questions/ give advice or what ever takes your fancy.

Yes hps will help with the flowering for sure

I can't believe I'm having no heat issues in this small space 'I'm even running passive lol
If anything my temp's ate low 74f with the light 18" ubove the canopy

First picture is 2 7days from the flip
Second picture is 10 days from the flip /same strain but one was veg ed 2 weeks longer and topped a couple more times.
3 plants all together in a 50x100x170cm space what works out to 6.66ft so I'm getting 600÷6.66=90watts sqf from my sunmaster flowering bulb 2000k ishh!! 95'000 lumens.

I apologise about the terrible pictures ' but the way I constructed the grow space doesn't leave a lot of room for quality picture taking lol

I will however post a few with the lights off at 730am

Just wanted to mention that , I won't be going back to LEDs untill the prices of the top lights come down to a reasonable price 'or once I have figured out cobs and how I would run them ,I will be sticking to hps.

Don't get me wrong I do have a soft stop for them still 'but just like a little brother kinda thing? #noveltytoys

check out growmau5 on the u tube! start from the beginner stuff and go from there ... in the end i decided on Timber grow lights but those videos are the holy grail as far as starting from absolute scratch and getting eventually into some high level stuff.

I have been watching the vids from growmau and also greengen for a few months 'and kinda understand it all now.

Getting your head around the "currents/driver amps and all the rest is a little mind blowing at first but I'm going to invest some time next year in a 'TIMBER frame 4x4 cxb3590 for my 4x4.

I'm glad thay come pre build before ordering " I really wouldn't want to blow a 1000 worth of cobs on my first day lol

Yeah same here. Those video's have a ton of info to wrap your head around... very much agreed on the Timber pre builts.. they are pretty reasonable as well compared to sourcing all the parts yourself and ordering... and not having to tap heatsinks ftw! Lol

A couple bud shots at lights out..

The girls had some early problems with underfeeding 'and I noticed some cal&mag dificency going on and possibly a zinc dif aswell? All seems to be ok now
Bumped the feed up to 1.5ec and all is well in the grow room.
I'm a little unsure of the flowering time on this pheno type of bluedream? Suposed to be sativa dom? Mine look indica heavy more on the blueberry side I think?

No matter , weed is weed and all weed is "heaven lol

These ones where grown just with 600 hps you just cant bet them

I was originally going to purchase all the parts myself, untill I realized' this is new tech and hard to source if you don't understand what it is your trying to purchase and how it all goes together.

I had a little experiment with taking a "WYZM-ZNET4 LED 300WATT , ripping the guts out and putting it all back together.
Well ' I won't do that again in a hurry , I blew it after it turned on a few times and couldn't figure out why untill I watched some videos and realized I had it wired up wrong and not grounded lol

I will learn by trial&error lol

How far along is she and how many times you top her lol she's a " MONSTER " what strain is that?

Great looking plants both! I'm rocking a standard 600 watt rig atm as well no recent bud shots though sadly. Just clones rooting and some new seeds popping up.

I never top them. That grow was about 6 month ago and I think the strain was some dream machine. These ones are the ones I have in now but gave my room a bit of a upgrade with 6 new gavita de. These ones are week 4 in to flowering there 3 cookies kush and 3 91 krypt

Are they in soil or soilless? It's looks like there feeding on somthing like steroids lol

They are grow in coco and they where only veg for 4,2 weeks
