up potting/lights

Hey guys, just wondering if there are any rules of thumb when up potting that could be helpful, I'm thinking about going to 1L pots (unless advised differently) I've been keeping them under fluorescent lights and they seem pretty happy for the most part. I'm going to borrow a 400w metal halide from a friend to give them a boost before I put them out side, any suggestions on how close I should put the light to the plants( I also have a bunch not in picture that only have second set of leaves) and also this will be in a 6x10' room it sits at just under 20C now with the frorecents, am I likely going to have to have a window or door open so they don't cook, I'm not experienced with them and don't know how hot it will run thanks in advance for help

Any advice on nutes would also be appreciated , and hopefully producs that I can find in Canada. I have not fed them anything as of yet, they are still just chilling in their organic promix potting soil
