Union head calls Trump a liar

The president of the steelworkers union representing Carrier employees said Donald Trump “lied his ass off” when he boasted about saving jobs at the Indianapolis, Indiana plant last Thursday.

Chuck Jones, who heads United Steelworkers 1999, told the Washington Post he originally felt optimistic about the deal the president-elect struck with United Technologies, the parent company that owns Carrier. But when he learned that that 550 members were still losing their jobs, he assumed Trump would use the Dec. 1 meeting to explain where his team fell short.

“But he got up there, and, for whatever reason, lied his ass off,” Jones said.

During his speech last week, Trump bragged about convincing Carrier to keep “over 1,100 people” at their Indianapolis plant—a move the president-elect called “so great.”

According to Jones, 350 of the 1,400 workers at the Carrier plant were never on the chopping block, while another 80 were non-union administrative positions. Despite this, United Technologies is receiving $7 million in tax credits from Indiana even as the parent company sends 700 factory jobs to Monterey, Mexico.

For this correction in Trump's statement, Benedict Donald sent Jones a tweet that has rocked his world. One statement on Trump's twitter feed brought goons to threaten the life and family of that union man.

represents Carrier employees.
When President-elect Donald Trump tweets, the world reacts.

When his tweets are about voter fraud, or the “failing New York Times,” liberals get angry. When his tweets are about private citizens who oppose him, his alt-right supporters respond by targeting those individuals with threats of physical violence and cyberbullying.

The most recent example came on Wednesday night, when Trump unleashed his rabid Twitter followers on Chuck Jones, a local union leader in Indiana who represents Carrier employees.

Chuck Jones, who is President of United Steelworkers 1999, has done a terrible job representing workers. No wonder companies flee country!

4:41 PM - 7 Dec 2016

Not even 30 minutes after Trump’s tweet, Jones started to receive phone calls from hostile Trump supporters. “Nothing that says they’re gonna kill me, but, you know, you better keep your eye on your kids,” Jones said on MSNBC. “We know what car you drive. Things along those lines.”

No, it's not up for debate. He lied about the number, period.
People said he lied about the boeing number too... Except it turns out that the contract is slated for 4.2 billion dollars.

You have no proof he lied about the number except another person that says the number is different. A person that did not happen to be part of the negotiation.

But it fits your ideology so you run with it.... Congrats!!

Carrier themselves said they were only keeping 800 jobs. You're fucking nuts if you believe otherwise:wall:

Crickets, lol
I bet they were told they only have to only retain the jobs for a few months/a year too.

The extra money won't last long in payroll.

Know what I just read?

Carrier is about to invest $12 in automation for that plant as part of the deal made with Trump "to stay competative"...so the 800 jobs saved WILL be slashed in the short/medium term.

Thanks for spending our money on nothing, Donald.
