trellis and light height????

Hey guys, so these two little ladies are about 3-4weeks into veg (sativa hybrid), i also "topped" them yesterday. Today i made a pvc frame for a trellis net i bought, however im not sure at what height to put the plants.
Do i want the canopy under the net or just over it?
Also by lowering the plants so that they would be under the net, theyre now about 12" under the 600w LED light, as compared to the 9" distance i had before.

So do i raise the plants back up?
are they good where they're at and i should just lower/raise the light with it?
basically the trellis height is set. however i can move the plants up and down because theyre on top of cardboard boxes.

Based on what I've read in the scrog stickies-
You want the screen ~8 inches above the pot. You'll probably want that light (Mars or something I'm guessing?) 10-12" above the net, depending on the light coverage and stretch.

If I were you, I'd put the plants on the floor of the tent, then adjust the screen height to 6-8 inches above them.
Next, I'd pull down the main stems opposite each other and under the net. Twisty tie in place. Any side branches above the net will be pulled down as well. The light would be adjusted to 10" above. Judging by the current size of your plants and the space available, you probably wont be vegging and weaving tops through the net for longer than 1 or 2 more weeks before the screen gets 70% filled, which is when you switch to flowering.

*If you don't want to adjust the net height to be 8" above the pots when they're on the ground, you can keep them on the boxes. Just make sure you have the vertical height to have the net 6-8" above the pot, have room for colas, and have room for the light from canopy gap.
**You could possibly take off the legs of the screen and zip tie the corners to the tent, or hang the frame from the top of the tent

HTH
Good luck!

okay well since this post ive added another layer of netting to make the squares a bit smaller. I measured and the net is already 8" above the pot. ive been tucking the branches under the net to try and train them into their own seperate squares. however i "topped" the plants three days ago, a day before i put the net, so should i be concerned for the top part of the plant growing way past the net?, also should i cut the very low branches that dont seem like they can make it to the canopy or do you think they will catch up to the rest of them. and i cannot put them on the ground because i cant lower the light much more.

Get those main tops under the net and tied down or else the other branches will have a hard time catching up. Don't trim anything until you've got the screen filled 70% or more. Everything else looks prime, good job!

Yes. Gently, of course lol. 3 inches above you're fine. That's actually how much you should let it grow through the net before you bend it down under.

The whole point of a scrog is to keep the canopy even. The bending of the main stem is what signals the lower branches to come up and meet the rest. If you don't get that main stem down, you're not going to get that nice even canopy of straight colas like all the pics you see of scrog. All about them auxins

awesome are zip ties too harsh? or should i use the same material the net is made of to tie her down, because i dont think it will stay down with just tucking

Heyyyyy you got it bud.
I was looking for a good pic for ya but you figured it out before lol

Keep her horizontal. The lower branches will come up and meet her. You won't need a second screen unless the buds are oversized AFTER the flip to 12/12 and AFTER the stretch. The second screen is just to support the weight of the colas, the first screen is what you use to train the branches horizontally.

All you gotta do now is let the lower branches come up. Once they go above the net a couple inches direct them under the screen just like you did with the main. Easy breezy

thanks a lot for your help, im wondering if i should cut off the very lowest branches? they dont look like they even stand a chance against all these new ones.. and when would you recommend flipping the switch?

When the screen is 70% filled, turn back the lights. Keep weaving and stuff through the first couple weeks flowering to guide the tops into their own squares as they stretch.

Some people trim a week before the flip, some a week after the flip. It's up to you really. If it looks like the middle branches will fill the screen to 70% before the flip, I'd trim em a week before.

Lot's of pics and posts about how everyone's doing it. I answered your questions solely off of the stuff I've read from that thread lol I have yet to scrog myself :P

but the other branches are for sure catching up and being easily trained. 32 days of veg,
