Sub,
Wanted to let you know that what your doing for Autistic families is something that makes me happier than words can describe.
My older brother has a very intense case of Autism, he has close to Zero social capabilities, has epilepsy, and needs to me monitored/taken care of 24/7.
When I was about 5 years old my mother, who was a single mom at the time, had to have him put into a group home (PACE Pace Autism Center for Education) because he was getting so out of control it was too hard for her to take care of him 24/7,take care of me, and have a job to support us.
It was something that has affected me, and my family, our entire life. We still visit him, although not as much as I would like, and spend all the holidays together, but it has to be one of the most difficult things to live with, having a family member, who you love so much, have to be a prisoner of this illness.
To see you, and fellow TGA members helping out these struggling families with Autistic children really hits me close to home and I would like to personally thank you for doing this.
Normal people don't understand how hard it is to raise a child with autism. It takes a lot of love, patience, and unfortunately money.
This is a quote from
http://autism.about.com/od/causesofautism/p/ontherise.htm
"
In the 10 years between 1993 and 2003, the number of American schoolchildren with autism diagnoses increased by over 800%"
I really hope this School Of Dank gets as big and popular as it can possibly get, because there is an endless amount of families struggling with Autistic family members.
Love and Respect
