Hi guys. First post here but have been a lurch for some time.

Anyway I have grown outdoors for years, now I want to go inside. I have compiled everything I think ill need for a budget/quiet setup.

I plan on starting with only 2 plants (northen lights) in soil.
So here is my shopping list thus far;

1x1x2m reflective grow tent = $73

MarsHydro 300w (old style) led = $107

4" duct booster exhaust fan = $44

Ducting = $20

Carbon filter (homemade) = $25

Hydro-booms 8" clip on fan = $32
______________$301 total without seeds, pots & nutrients.

I just want to get this right before i start buying everything. So any advice/help is appreciated.

-thanks

Thats a small tent, do you have room for a bigger one? If it has to be that small i would look a the square trash cans at wall mart, paint the inside white and save 60.00 for the best soil and pots

Unfortunetly it is a small tent but the only place I can put it. Is in my laundry which isn't very wide. This is more of a stepping stone than anything.(if i can do 2/3 plants ill be happy)

I was going to turn one of our old fridges into a steath box, but really cant be bothered cutting up an old fridge when these tents are so cheap now!

Question*. Would the 8" (200mm) clip on fan do its job. Obviously with the tent bottom vent open. And the 4" fan acting as the exhaust on top?

I'm just trying to avoid noise as much as possible also, due to nosey neighbours.

I think you could save money on the tent if you just built it out of wood or pvc and lined it with panda film yourself, and you could make it the perfect size to fit your space.
I have some 4" booster fans and they aren't very strong so you may need something stronger. But if you choose to go with booster fans you can get them for like 26$ at htg supply in 4" and like 30$ at home depot/lowes in 4".

Just my opinion take it or leave it.

Thanks for the idea. But am just going to use the tent to learn the ropes than once mastered will look at upscaling somehow.

I'm assuming there American shops? Im from Australia, and currently are the best prices. ( You yanks get everything cheaper ;) )

Would you recommend the bigger 6" fan? Im only new to this, done a lot of reading. But feel like im a midget in a big maze haha.

Edit. Ok re shuffled my room space and now, can probably fit a 1x1x2m tent.

If your usong booster fans id go 8 inch but thats just me. What worked best for me with booster fans was two 8 inch fans ducted together. The idea was to boost the second fan with the first one.
