Tangerine Dream

Has anyone tried growing this strain? I've come across a few reviews online that mentioned the buds don't get very dense.
I've found this to be true. My first attempt at this strain, a clipping of a lower branch:

I grew it as one of 3 strains in my first grow. You'll find a lot of people have had problems growing it for different reasons, so I guess I got lucky (did an organic super soil in containers on a balcony). I made some minor mistakes along the way, but in the end it was a beautiful plant that responded very well to LST. Smells and tastes amazing. I have read more than once on the forum (which doesn't make it true, of course--somebody please correct me if necessary), that generally, sativa dominant strains tend to have more airy buds than indicas. Your picture there looks about like what I harvested. Before harvesting, the multiple colas were about 2.5 inches in width. Of course, that shrank after drying and curing.

What's your opinion of the high, by the way? I find it's definitely an up high at least at first, but there is potential for crashing. It definitely inspires some creativity (writing and music for me), but often the profound, revelatory thoughts tend to come quickly and then disappear from memory just as quickly--most of the time before you've had a chance to write them down. Of course, the next day those thoughts are often not as profound when you're sober but....

Forgetfulness, a dull mind and fatigue are the last things I want from a smoke, and though TD doesn't dumb me down terribly, I'm looking for something with a bit more focus and energy.

Count yourself lucky , as stated above the growers reviews on this strain are horrible and all over the internet .. Many people had infertile beans and those that grew were far from the Cup winning bud .. I was one of the unlucky to grow out a pack to discover nothing but Equatorial Sativas that were worthless to grow where I reside and indoors they were a nightmare awaiting to happen .. I killed them early on and counted my losses .

Its been said by many growers that Barneys Farm forgot to select Homogeneous stock when going Fem .. I am not sure if they ever used such stock in the first place .. I grew a pack of the LSD out as well and that one was a joke compared to what I normally grow and keep .. O well thats life and I wont spend a dollar on dutch gear again , lesson learnt ..

I had friends at the cup when it won, they got back and the beans they got were worthless as most people will agree. Super fluffy buds that didn't look like they would ever finish. One had a citrusy smell but def not worth keeping. As others said consider yourself lucky because yours looks super dank compared to the other tangerine dreams I've seen.

I steered clear of it because of too many people mentioning the long flowering times if you get the g/13 haze phenotype.

You may find what you are looking for in TGA SpaceDawg. One of my phenos you can stay very focused. It is a very comfortable buzz.

My other pheno is very unique. It is like three different strains in one, and very potent.

From what I understand a tangerine tasting plant is very uncommon to get from Tangerine Dream seeds. If you like a tangerine flavored bud try our Space Crush clone or Cosmic Crush seeds hehe.

I should get back with kak, had a PM going at the MMMA site, we were supposed to meet up sometime.

Citrus? We have all kinds of 'em here too. Working back through to pick up some dankness in the collection. Starting some old seeds also.

Anyway Space Crush is about as tangerine as I've ever tasted. Reminds me of a tangerine Altoid candy. Not the best growing plant but works ok once you learn her tricks. Smoke is relaxing but not a couch locker. I like to call it the perfect sativa/indica blend...... Close to 50/50 in effect.
