He has said before he uses a whole batch over a year. So i would assume a year should be ok as long as you mix it here and there to make sure it dont mold or whatever.

I keep a few extra garbage cans around. Every month or so i just dump from one can to another .

Keep the garbage can with SS warm, but not heated.

No lights

Just enough water to form a ball in your fist, but the ball crumbles when poked.

30 day minimum.

I transferred the SS from one garbage can to another to keep the O2 high and to mix more thoroughly.

I liked it a lot.
Gotcha, took the cool tube off and just let it sit. It really did seem to help get pile activated though. Mine has been sitting for 35 days now, so I am ready to give it a whirl!

thanks thats what i hear lol , but your super soil has many different ingredients which changes the ph, so i was wondering how it is effected long term. maybe too much bacteria is generated long term?

Not a bad theory and I havnt actually ever had any soil over a year old so I cant say what would happen over an extended time but I am pretty sure it would keep for a very long time.

Thanks for layn it out simple for me bro!

Is it just me or is the number one category of questions on this forum are about super soil? When is someone in the potting soil business going to take notice people's interest in this and put out a commercial version of super soil we can buy at the hydro store? I would welcome that as mixing SS is not practical for me.
There is! its called RainBow Mix. there is a grow and bloom, just mix it in your soil and grow, no guess work or cook time.

You will never get the results I do unless you make it yourself simple.
Dirt companies will cut corners in order to increase profits.
If you cant mix it up pay someone to.

I'm approaching week 10 of flower of a nice SSH female. Same 7 gallon pail of SS. Looks great. I agree with others that there would be no long term harm if soil is stored for months and months.

They do have it. But SS is super Bio Active and most of those microbes need Oxygen. So when the SS sits in the bag at the store with some wetting agent it can turn pathogenic. Nothing some good microbial Inoculation cant fix. But as a side note, I have grown to distrust the high schooler getting paid minimum wage mixing my soils for me at some factory. I think most of us like as much control over the soil as possible to mitigate extra variables.
I even make my own pro-miz with peat and rice hulls, and great white. (Yes the endo does grow without roots) (the spores are activated by sugars, either at the root or from your molasses bottle ;) and yes it stays alive so long as there is sugars around it to metabolize. And ecto is good to, it can break down starches.
