Hey guys, can anyone identify what defiency this is the start of?as you can see in the first pic,red stem.I know these are my oldest fans, but it seems to be spreading.the second pic shows a couple brown, dead(dying)spots on edge.this happened between the time i was at work yesterday.I may have doubled up on cal (used calmag and another product with cal in it)MG defiency?I'm very far off from harvest and a bit concerned they won't make it.any advice would be great.thanks

Thanks for the quick response taGyo.I have looked at charts and read about all def.til my eyes got blurry.that's why I joined,I can't figure it out on my own.
Ph going in mid 6 coming out same.however,I'm done phing my nutes(biobizz).rep from them, and soil maker(roots707)say its not necessary. I have well water(7.6/7.8)I've had a bit of yellowing earlier in season, but the brown/grey spots happened yesterday.plants went out 6/5. 10 gallon pot,I really have not had to water much.just starting adding biofish last week.I have just gone off soil nutes up until then.I have used some calmag+,along with mygrow(desalinated ocean water)which also has cal/mag.I'm leaning towards cal locking out mag?idk.think I'm killing with kindness.....

How much nutes are you using? (PPM, EC would be better)
What's your soil/soiless?
And this is only older leaves?

Click on that icmag link, it has some great info along with a chart at the bottom stating what yellowing of older leaves could possibly be.

I don't have ec/ppm meter.but I have gone half the recommended dosage(biobizz .5 ml per litre, etc)But I have added other things as well.(seaplex, calmag)once a week I have been foliar feedind with half dosages of fish with seaplex.the yellowing of the leaf tip looks to be phosphorus, according to the chart.I wasn't thinking that Mac.I'm outdoors in roots 707 soil.it mainly is the older leaves, but appears to be spreading midway up the plant.the dead spots are mid plant

Nice chart R1b.to me its similar to nit.I wish/hope it was that easy.does nit.def start yellowing at the leaf tip like in my pic?

Not a great pic, from last week.pineapple express.I really appreciate your guys input.I will get a pic out first thing tomorrow am.(14hr work day today,be dark when I get home)I know I probably jumped the gun,but plants needed h2o so last night gave them recommended dosage of fish 1ml/litre mixed with Epsom salts.however, not sure about the mag def,now.IMG_20150706_153657878.jpgIMG_20150714_064946241_HDR.jpg

Could be an N deficiency,
Wait for more experienced eyes to tell you and new pics would help.

What's your nutrient strengths? Do you have a ppm meter? Honestly, it doesn't look that bad. If it's just the lower leaves like that it means you need more N I believe.

I've had a Jorge Cervantes grow bible for almost 10 years. I picked it up tonight looked up nute burn and in 1min I believe I found the issue.I was only giving these plants a litre a piece of nute solution.(1 plant is in a 6 gallon pot the other 10 gallon)the solution was weak, but I was adding more than just one nute.I don't have a meter but if I did,I bet it would read high.figuring it being organics It would alright,I believe this is my best bet for trouble.I'm growing in roots707 which had enough nutes.especially being 10gallons worth of soil .polish pollack brought this up on another thread i started.which he callrd burn on.so now I'm on the fence about whether or not to flush.it would take a shitload of h20 and I'm not sure if I want to wash my soil like that.I'm going to keep an eye on them,if it gets worse,I guess I'll have to flush.the yellowing is hitting the inside fans going midway up the plant, and so far I just have the two necrotic spots. I'm hoping that with plain water things will cease.no more nutes until well into flowering.I read something cool today,Nutes are not food to a plant, they're like multivitamins, sunlight is food.thanks for caring taGyo,I'm gonna keep this thread open the whole grow.I think it will be helpful for others.peace

Lol.

I initially thought you may be overfeeding but I didn't want to say it because I was unfamilair with your nutes.

Good job man. I'd water for a bit with PH water. Nute burn doesn't really go away, those bottom leaves will stay yellow. If you start seeing more signs of deficiency then I'd correct with feeding.

So no on the flush?

Seems to be ( N ) deficiency , as you will see the problem move upward. If nitrogen isn't available from your medium , it will source it from itself. And start the yellowing of its leaves. , and will continue upward . Recheck your feeding mix , and PPM range for the grow stage you are in.
