Spider Tops

Can anyone tell me what's up with the spider tops? As you can see in the picture the plant as a whole is very healthy other than those little growing new leaves that are shriveled up and look more like a spider than a leaf coming out. Could it be heat from the lamp? There's lower sprouts on the plant that are doing it too and they're not as close. The lamp is about 15 - 20 inches away. It's a big 1000w HPS lamp so it does give off heat but I've got a fan blowing a nice breeze by it to suck the heat off. I just watered them in the last 12 hours. That's probably not it but I'll just add that I did so there's nothing left out that might be considered in the diagnosis. Any help here? They've been growing so nicely lately....I don't want things to go south. spider tops.jpg

All looks good to me, the spider looking is normal as the new leaves grow out. If worried about heat put your hand over the top of the plant palm down, if you feel heat it's too close.

spider tops2.jpgI'm tell'n ya, I still think there's something wrong. As you might tell, I demand a perfect plant all the way to harvest. I'll use wips on the bitch if I have to. Here's another picture. This one has the lights on so it's unfortunately orange but now they're on for 18 hours so I figured by then things could be worse. Are they or are they not too spindly? Look at the one that's on the right down lower on the plant. I think it looks like a shriveled up little bastard. Am I to believe it will "fat'n up" in a day or two. I'm pretty sure what ever I saw from all these other beautiful leaves coming out didn't concern me like these are. Maybe I'm just paranoid and "want" to see something bad but I'm sure there's something wrong here. -Need more input.

It must be. I hold my hand under them by the plants and to me it's just warm. Nice and warm like a summer sun. But I guess maybe over more time it does get to be too much for the plant. I've raised the lights again. There's one short plant from when I had to re-seed one that's about 2 weeks behind the others. I hate to leave it behind but I have to keep ahead of the big boys (girls) if heat is the problem. The smaller one (which isn't so small any more) does seem to grow just fine with the light well above it so there must be plenty of room above yet to go. My second grow with the HPS light so I'm still learning the capabilities of it and how high above the plants I really need to be. Anyone with great knowledge of the 1000w HPS lamp I'd appreciate some education.

Dude take a bunch of pics and post them. It's easier to diagnose! LST the top new growth out of the direct heat/light that should help. Or raise your lights.
