The Wreck is looking gorgeous in your last update! Can't wait to see the final yield of that.
Well, I'll go on record now, predicting somewhere very near 5 ounces.

That link is awesome. As someone unfamiliar with H&G nutrients that would help a bunch. Any additions/deletions you have noticed to their lists? May give them a shot on the run after next myself. Slight OCD has me trying new things looking for that 1g/watt we all are searching for.
They've very recently overhauled the page and the only error on it now, and it is addressed in the "known issues" header, is the Magic Green is not added to the res, it's a foliar application used once a week up until budset has begun. WARNING: mix what you can use...no more. You leave that stuff in a spray bottle for a couple days and the smell will literally make you puke...think rotten eggs and it's close, they never really mention that either.

+Rep for the constant updates.
Thanks for trying to rep me again, my man.

I'm just shocked you aren't getting flooded with posts.
I'm still new here, they'll come.

A little Violator Kush action today.

I'm kind of in that week to ten day period where it's a little difficult to show much. The leaves, and VK is a prodigious leaf producer, are blocking alot of the bud view, but the combination of growth and leaf removal will begin to open it up some next week.

Yes, I said leaf removal. I know that removing fan leaves is a controversial technique, and largely it is something I don't do, but there is an exception to every rule, and for me Violator Kush is that exception. I'll remove 6-8 leaves from each plant, each week for the next three weeks, to help light penetration...I've tried more and less, and that seems to be the right amount to take off. This strain has an unbelievable ability to regenerate fan leaves, so you kind of have to keep an eye out to see what is required, you don't want to go crazy with it, but you do need to get some light down low for the next three weeks or so...after that the plant seems to quit pumping out leaves and there's no need to continue with it...just sit back and watch the swell once the Shooting Powder gets hold of them.

Morning VK pics...

As for the Purple Wreck, I just don't know what to say...she's exploding in bud, fan leaves are taking on some color and there are a few pistils starting to turn...all of this after three weeks. Took a good bit of lower growth off of it yesterday, and ended up with enough popcorn for a quick dry bowl, and I was pleasantly surprised at the result...got me stoned as hell for 30 minutes or so...short, but intense, high...lousy taste, but there was, if you knew what to taste for, a bit of the underlying grape taste that really comes out of this plant in the cure.

All is going very well.

Hope y'all are having a great weekend.

Purple Wreck pics today.

I've never grown a plant that was so frosty at this point in a grow...I mean for God's sake, it's just short of four weeks and it looks like this. Really has me wondering about what the deal is with her clones, they never get this good...go figure

It's not showing up very well yet, but there is some definite color change going on, mostly in the small sugar leaves, but some in the bud as well. Hopefully, I'll be able to get some tighter pics in the next week or so that shows it off better.

You know, this is completely off topic, but it's bugging me and it's my thread, so here goes.

What the hell is up with all the sniping and arguing and general trollery here? Did the Mods just give up, or is constant bickering actually encouraged here? I like to go through other peoples's grows as well as drifting through the various forums just to see what's what, but today was just depressing. It seems that no one wants to debate merits, just slam opposing views. Is this normal? If so, maybe new Moderation is called for. This ain't much fun.

It seems most anything is allowed here. Not such a bad thing I guess but good threads are derailed on a constant basis. Alas I'd rather talk about our activities here than with many locals.

Doing a little double update this AM, hoping to see a little interest develop in this journal, if a little interaction doesn't get going, I'll just suspend updates until harvest in four and six weeks respectively.

PW are swelling hard and fast, putting on a very unique smell, sort of like rotten watermelon, the same smell as her clones, just more potent. The frosting continues and the buds are quite dense. Next week I'll really be ramping up the feed, hammering them with Shooting Powder to accelerate the swell to it's maximum level.

Violator Kush...ahh my girls. The colas/branches have largely moved out from under the leaf cover, reaching up to the lumens it's craving. I've begun the removal of excess fan leaves here and there, and will continue to do so from now until the end of the grow. I know there are growers out there cringing at that notion, but after growing this strain as many times as I have, I know it will help overall yield. The girls are starting to frost up a bit, nowhere near the level of the PW, but it's coming on fast.

Everything is going just right.

That's the show for today.

Hope y'all had a great holiday weekend.

For some reason that last pic didn't upload, but it's an example of wht happens when you up the MultiZyme by 5%...it didn't really hurt anything, but there were several sets of leaves that looked pretty much identical, most have been removed in the first round of leaf removal.

Its sad to see a well written and updated journal not getting any attention. Maybe you should change the title to "OMGZ FATZ BUDZ Foshizzle My Nizzle" seems thats what gets attention around here.

Seriously, keep it up bro some of us are enjoying it!

Jumped up early and did the mid week res change for the VK this morning. I've found that in weeks 3-6 of flower, I often have to swap the res about four days in. The reason is obvious, four plants in one rather small, 18 gallon, res that I only put 15 gallons at a time into. Easy fix to this is a larger res or less plants, but I don't mind changing it out. If there is any drawback at all to the H&G line, and this is a pretty small complaint, it's nearly impossible to add nutrient solution to a DWC setup like I'm using without really skewing the ratios of components in the mix, and that can cause all manner of glitches and hiccups...see the burnt leaf pic from yesterday, and that was just a 5% bump in Multizyme.

PW is clipping right along, showing glimpses of the color to come, but mostly she seems busy swelling and adding layer upon layer of glistening trichomes.

Y'all have a great day.

looking very nice man, my VK's seeds have been sitting in a cup of water for the last 2 days and sprouted some taps this am, psyched!

This will actually be my 2nd run with her, ran her right after the lsd but had only cracked one seed and didnt keep her. Very nice buds indeed!! used lst under a 600 and she blessed me with 5 tasty potent zingers.

Yeah, the pheno I'm working will give up about 4.5 ounces per plant of rock hard, glistening bud. I really like the relaxation afforded by the high cbd/cbn numbers, but the 20%+ thc keeps me from feeling paralyzed, I can still function mentally. It's a really nice all around smoke.

Mixed bag of pics today...a little of both.

The Purple Wreck is swelling fast, and as a result, I've amended the feed schedule to include a very small (1/4 tsp per gallon of water) amount of Shooting Powder. The addition of the SP a week or so early, has less to do with providing a Phos. bump now, as it does to hardening off a very nutrient sensitive strain to the heavy doses that will start Monday.

Violator Kush has really kicked into gear. She seemed to take a week longer to really get going than is the norm. I have no explanation for that, I'm running everything the same as usual.

Next weeks res change and soil feeding will include a one week only additive. Top Booster is H&G's PK13-14 mix with a twist. Top Booster causes an "optical drought", basically, it tricks the plant into thinking there's no light, which drives the bloom into hyper drive. There is a little trick in using it, in hydro, that I'll share here. Never, and I mean never, leave the plant exposed to the TB for more than 72 hours. It'll basically short you by half a week, but this problem is easily overcome by adding one week of flower in the nutrient calculator...ie, if you're flowering a nine week strain, work a ten week flower schedule, knowing that you're going to short the Top Booster week by four days...simple fix. Once the TB week is over and done with, the Shooting Powder will be introduced, and then the swell will get truly insane.

Damn dude those are going to be FAT buds  Nice job, I wonder if its more because of the organic nutes/BB or because of the hydro system...

Well, the nutrients aren't organic, although there are organic components, and the PW is in soil, setting right beside my hydro tub. But thanks for the kind assessment of the bud situation, they are coming right along. The Violator Kush is all set to put on a very entertaining show over the next little bit.

PW is really maturing fast, pistils are changing color quickly, blue is showing up in the sugar leaves and the trichs are starting to get cloudy, around 40% cloudy at this point. The rapid maturation is a long way from how her clones act...I seem to be about 10 days in front of where I normally am with clones. You expect some loss of vigor with clones, but this is way out on the extreme side, not complaining, just surprised.

Violator Kush are going strong now, the extreme leaf coverage prevents pictures from really showing the extent of the bud set, but take my word for it, from 1.5" off the lid of the res, to the tips of the branches/colas is solid bud. They have run a little slower than I'm used to, but it likely will work out to my advantage.

Took two clones from my SLH mother yesterday, setting them up to go into the flower room as soon as I chop the PW. You have to be careful with the SLH indoors, the damn things will triple in height when you flower them, so never let them go more than 3-4 nodes before flowering...unless you have 20' ceilings.

On a normal flower schedule, the PW would have in the neighborhood of 3.5 weeks left, but at the current rate of maturation I'd be quite suprised if they go much more than two...time will tell.

Pics of the whole works...

very good, id say bout 3.5 to 4 weeks on the pw too, frosty n tasty lookin, how's she smell.
I'll post a video of myself eating a straw hat if they go more than 2-2.5 more weeks. I talked with a friend from my former site and he said he experienced more or less the same accelerated flower when he had his fill of growing it, and flowered off the mother. Our plants were within 3 weeks of the same age, mine was actually a little younger, and he concluded it was from the extended veg cycle, a notion I've considered myself.

Smell, well it's alot like rotten watermelon in there right now. Very sweet, almost sickeningly so, but the cure will tame that down a good bit.
