Sog setup

Hi guys new member first time grower

I'm thinking of starting a sog setup
I was thinking of making a 4x4 box for flowering using a 600watt has and 2x2 box for mothers using a 150 watt has and 1.5x1.5 clone box using cfls

Now my design is to make these boxes all joined together so the 4x4 and the 1.5 x1.5 would be screwed on either side to the 2x2
The 1.5 box would be split in half height wise (divided by a shelf)for cloning and drying

Now the reason I am thinking that I want all the boxes joining is because I'm thinking this would be the best way to ventilate the 3 boxes and eliminate smell instead of having 3 non touching boxes

So I'm asking here to see what peoples opinions are or a design similar to what I'm specifying

I would like to keep the boxes joined so I won't have to buy ventilation and carbon filter for each box so if there's a way of doing it with a bigger singular fan and scrubber to run through the boxes Tied in to each other it would suit me best

You can vent them all with the same fan . Use " t " fittings for the veg box , clone boxes dont need exhaust but if you feel you need it drop another "t " in there put the filter between the fan and the boxes.. Hope that makes sense !

Theres a diy sub forum in general growing that's worth a look if you haven't already. Ton's of homemade boxes,rooms, lights you name it some ones built it. Some really well built well thought out grow boxes.

Hi and thanks for the reply as I would be splitting the clone box and drying area I would like to have the drying area ventilated and scrubbed along with the veg and flower so while I'm at it I might as well have the clone box ventilated aswell try to have it all nicely dialled

My idea is to get a harvest every month I'm not sure whether it would be cheaper to run soil or hydro as I would be tossing out finished materials from harvests every month
My aim is to get the best potential of of a 4x4 flower box every month using a 600 watt hps
So I'm a little confused on choosing a method that would produce a nice bit of bud and keep the ball rolling by keeping mothers and cloning as to keep costs down on buying seeds and ordering them

Soil is simple and less expensive than buying a hydro set up,, you could also build a dwc , then you would need a reservoir ( bucket or totes). Air pump(s) and air stones and nutrients ( ph adjusted so you don't need a ph meter)

I've done alot of research over the past year on understanding how to grow and using different methods and all the information I've gathered and gained is like it's all going around in a blender at 200mph and I can't see what's happening so I think when it's time for me to start a grow I should maybe start a journal and hopefully knowledgeable members could mentor me

At the moment I'm trying to put things into perspective and maybe thinking that if I had a 4x4 tent and 600watt hps use it for veg and flower maybe grow 4/6 plants might be more efficient than having what I mentioned earlier and ditch the sog method and also that handling less plants would give me a better understanding
I've read about sog scrog lst hydro Dwc and all and understand it im just wondering what would be best to work with for space light penetration electrical efficiency and overall setup cost and all that

Would you personally think that I would be best doing 6plants in a 4x4 under a 600 watt hps obviously this would mean a longer veg than the sog but in the end would more or less harvest similar without the extra lights and setup costs and electrical cost of running sog

with a 600 you can sog (2 plants per sq foot). Or this is what I would do, veg a clone or seed for 40-60 days and it will be big enough to take cuttings off of, for a 600 I would veg 10 clones for 3 -4 weeks and put them in 2gal pots for flower
