Im just about to stick my 4 plants into flowering, I took some cuttings and put them in another grow tent under a low wattage of light just to keep them going.

I am considering doing a SOG grow next but im not 100% clued up about it. So I wana get clued up about it so when my 4 big ones are done I can do a SOG

I have about 3ft by 3ft to work with, I have a secret jardin grow tent, lights in there is a 180 watt UFO LED and a 250 watt hps light.

What size pots should I use for a SOG?

at the moment I have 4 inch square pots for my cuttings. Would I use bigger pots for a SOG?

Thanks

3 ft by 3 ft but how tall? If you want to grow each plant bigger but have fewer pots, then use bigger pots. in my experience OG kush, green crack, LA confidential, some (more potent?) strains can barely produce an ounce indoors, filling up a 5 gal pot. you might get the best yield with 2 or 3 in 5 gal pots if theres room.

6ft tall, was thinking of using my white widow clones for the sog..... Although am looking at growing grandaddy purple, just heard its not good for sog.

I am going to attempt a 30 plant SOG grow in 5in square pots with a 600w HPS.

The idea of SOG is lots of short, single cola plants, with minimum veg time, and an equal canopy height to make maximum use of the light available, rather than trying to get light down to the lower buds on tall plants.

I would think it would work well for you since you are running a smaller HPS wattage.

I have a GDP plant that I cut clones of, and from what I have seen, it likes to get WIDE at the base rather than tall. You want strains that grow best producing one cola, rather than topping or FIMing to make multiple colas.
