Skunk Smell

This is a topic that has been discussed in many forums, but the answer is never clear.

There are many of us searching for that skunky smelling strain. Some answers I have found from other posts lead to Skunk #1 from Sensi Seeds, however grow reports show there is little to no skunk smell and it is just a sweet smelling strain.

Others say Mr.Nice Sh!t is the real deal and again some grow reports say its not skunky at all.

From your personal growing experience, have you guys & gals grown a strain that is skunky in smell?
Its okay if it has other smells as well, it does not have to be PURE skunk smell.

I have also heard that Skunk crosses with Afghani produce the skunk smell. Others say its not the Skunk #1 at all, in fact the smell comes from Kush strains.

I am not worried about production, not worried about how pretty the strain is, not worried about the resin production. Just focused on skunk smell.

In short, based on personal experience, what strain have you guys & gals grown that you can clearly smell and identify that rotten skunky smell? Combination smells are welcome. (Skunk with fuel smell or Skunk with hints of blueberry.)

If you could respond using the example below I would be greatly appreciated.

Example:
Strain Name: God Super Skunk x Chernobyl

Breeder: Jordan of the Islands

Skunk Smell Strength:
Strong (It's there!overpowers other smells )
Medium (Its there. Just as much as other smells.)
Light (It's there, but underpowered by other smells.)
None (It's not there, can't smell it at all.)

Other Smells: Pine/Lemon/Sweet

Many thanks for your input you all rock.

Sour diesel is as skunkiest as it's gonna get, so I would say any strain that is crossed with it will have that skunk smell.

Thanks for the info.

Do you have any recommendations on a seedbank to go with?

I have never tried Sour Diesel, I had no idea it smelled skunky.

I would have imagined it smelling something like fuel.

Um, what? No....

To the OP, if you truly want real skunk, you’re gonna have to search. The skunk has been bred out of everything from Europe. Dominion Seeds is doing some great things bringing back the skunk using old genetics, but his packs sell out almost immediately.

Any Western banks with skunk smelling strains?

I'm not necessarily looking for a pure skunk. Just a strain with skunk smell.

Hey, your reply is not wrong it's your opinion all good.

What Sour Diesel from what breeder did you get a skunk smell from?
The strain has been in upstate NY, the reason I say it was pure skunk is because my wife nannys exact words after me toking it " you guys smell that skunk he must of sprayed around here" us laughing the whole time knowing it was the sour.

Makes sense. So you don't know the origin of the strain. (What seeds was used.)

Thanks for the info though, I'll try a Sour Diesel when I get a chance.

For the Rks there has to be at least two different chemicals. One from smell and one from taste.

There are some that smell like rks and then it doesnt translate to harvest and taste, reported in other strains than rks as well, maybe some afghan lineage....

The rks smell and taste seems to be buried deep in the genepool.....
