My friend is growing purple kush and blueberry clones I gave him, outside. He's on the North Oregon coast, Seaside-Astoria area. I haven't visited him so I don't know if he's getting light on them at night, but he denies it. Says it's dark where they sit at night. But they look way behind. And the flowering has been going on for several weeks.

Has anyone grown these strains at our latitude? When should they be done?


Not best flowering pics. He was showing me storm damage from last night. They weren't properly supported.

They definitely aren't going to finish outside before they're destroyed by the elements; summer's over. Best bet would be to take them inside and put them under lighting. They still have MANY weeks of flowering left, and many more if kept outside(they'll die if left outside anyways, already got their asses whooped by a storm). And that little bastard caterpillar isn't helping out the situation either! Lol, he better get those ladies inside and out of the elements if he wants those plants to actually produce something. How many weeks is several, if it's 3-5 they look right on time, maybe a little slow?

When were they put out, maybe not enough time left for em at that location?

Light at night wouldn't just slow flowering. But street lights and such don't put out enough anyway

Looks like flowering barely started a couple weeks ago.. I'd ask again around Halloween

Idk much about Oregon. I'm in tx. We can grow yr round here. You might be able to finish outside but I'm just guessing.

Either way. Far from done

Also, you're supposed to start your outdoors grow in the spring so it wraps up around fall. You're going to have some frosty ass nugs! Literally from all the ice that's going to be collecting on them soon.

Agreed, I always feared the week-long high-humidity stormy/gloomy weather before frost... in fact, the plants will make it through a frost (and have) so long as the root zone is happy.

I'm from SF (in school) so I know exactly what you're talking about with mold. And I know I wouldn't be able to pop some plants out on my roof right now and expect them to finish at this time of the year. He needs to take the plants inside or they're going to be waste of time.

Those for sure didnt get enough light and or darkness. those got a DECENT time left lol. i would say ATLEAST 4 weeks. best bet is to move them inside sooner than later. I live in maine and mine are coming down very soon. I cant go past a couple weeks into october. unless i want to battle 5000 different things all called bullshit. oh and the weather never helps in october either.. my opinion. put em indoors and go 11/13 (13 off) give em the xtra hour at night. thats when they make the weight

Gonna have to bring em indoors and put under lights to finish, looks like only 2-3 weeks into budding and gonna need about 5-6 more weeks to finish...if kept outside the moisture in the air there will rot the buds...at this point they will do much better indoors under lights.
I think the plants have been only getting part day sun which doesn't help things.

I'm actually north of you on the Wa coast... growing here is difficult to say the least..
Long days lead to late flower... we actually need an exceptional Oct to finish.. You need to get em inside!!
I brought mine inside the end o Aug..

I hope it stays good here in maine for another 3 weeks to be safe. as i am fucked if not lol. 5-6 ft sobs in the ground lol. idk why i did that this year but i did and am now saying "fuck that was dumb". i been fighting bullshit here n there
