should i top dress some dolomite?

hey guys I'm growing in 6.5 gal containers one of my main goals starting this was to not constantly worry about ph I did that last time and had that all planned out but yeah that went to shit I ran short on FFOF , so my soil mix had to go
bottom 1/3 subcools recipe supersoil
mix of 1/2 FFOF 1/4. Earthgro organic humus and manure 1/4 MG organic
and alot of perilite and small river stones for drainage, what's concerning me is the earthgro and MG organic the FFOF has oyster shell to buffer but i don't believe the MG or earthgro does
would you scratch in a little dolomite lime or leave it be
my plants are 20 days old and look very healthy I'm watering with tap water thats sat out for a few days
please keep in mind i have no ph meters and do not plan on buying one that was my whole point of spending so much on a good organic soil

would you scratch in a little dolomite or am I just too high and paranoid

Dolomite will not work as a top dress, it will not magically sink into the soil. Better off top dressing with oyster shell flour

I don't think that soil is gonna work out for you......

I use the powered dolomite, is this what you're referring to? The granulated stuff is different. Yeah, says right on the label to top dress but it doesn't say how much. I usually put in a half a cup when I transplant just before 12/12. The thing is you need to be able to check your PH. Know your incoming water PH and PH after adding nutes. If you don't do these things the dolomite can't hurt at this stage.

forget the d-lime, if you want to adjust your ph, a good safe way to do so is to add about 15% of biochar to your total soil.
It has a natural liming effect, not to mention it should be in every grow, in my opinion.
Go get some cowboy charcoal and get to bustin them up, don't rinse after wards and it'll increase your ph substantially.

If the plants are healthy that means your ph is in a good range. I wouldn't mess with success.

My suggestion, don't use dolomite lime ever again. @greasemonkeymann is right about biochar. That stuff is an amazing amendment to add to your soil. Oyster shell flour is another great amendment that helps control ph.

biochar rules, it, along with my rotted wood works perfect in conjunction with each other, won't ever go without those two.

I added some rotten wood chunks per your advice, my god I will NEVER go without it again! Just it's ability to hold moisture and keep it readily available makes it worth the work to make it / money to buy it.

Ahhh yes!
Again I totally agree, it works so great just on keeping the soil like more of a humid type state, the little chunks are like condominiums for microbes too, I love the stuff, plus in my mind (could be BS) ii have a nice array of different indigenous microbes from them too, gotta like that, I mean my redwood forest is about as green as it gets... so the soil gotta be loaded with some good little guys
