Short grow: in/outdoor: Goji og

First off, I just want to go on record and say that I don't have a whole lot of experience growing. So this will be sort of a "test run" for me to kinda get a feel of how things work. I am open to every ones thoughts, comments, advice, questions and any thing in between, as I am new to this and would gladly appreciate it. Thanks!

I pulled all these seeds out of a half oz of some pretty good shit my friend grew. He said the stain was called goji og and that he purchased his seeds on herbiesheadshop.com. I germinated seven seeds with the wet paper towel method with 100% success. (I found a few seeds sooner than the others, so some are further along in veg) Each seed took roughly two days to develop a taproot. The seedlings were then transplanted into fox farms ocean forest soil and placed on my porch in the sun 6/28-7/6/2016.
I know people say it's to late in the year for outdoor, but again it's just a "test run". Unfortunately things have kinda taken a turn for the worse, weather wise. Living in Oregon, bipolar forecasts and 60 degree temperatures in July, with rain, is not uncommon. So I decided to move my sprouts inside, where they now sit under two 13w 900 lumin 2700k CFL lights. I figure I'll put them back out, for good, the first week of August and let them start flowering.

I am curious if I could move my plants to my porch during the day and then back under the cfl's at night (while they veg). Would there be any negative side effects from doing this? Has any one had experience doing this? Once again, very new to all this, any input is appreciated. Thanks again ✌

Quick update 7/13/16: day 13 & 6.
Plants are doing good and looking healthy! Still under light 24/7. About 14 hours in actual sun and the remaining 10 under the 2 2700k cfl's. Debating on giving them LIGHT nuts to speed things up a little.
I have been doing more research and it would seem goji og takes roughly 9 weeks to flower. Id like to veg the plants for at least 5 weeks so I estimated that I should crop out around mid October.
Anyone with experience with this strain? I have a few questions, thanks!!image.jpeg

Update: week 2 & 3.
The plants are looking very healthy. I've been struggling with their over all growth though. I do feel like they should be a little further along, but the weather here in Oregon has been crap. Fortunately enough, it's looking like the sun is going to move in for the rest of the summer. All of them are still being ran under 24 hours of light. 14 hours under CFL and the remaining ten out side in the actual sunlight. I generally move them back in the house once my porch is completely in shade. Plant number one (week 3), is showing new growth at the nodes, so I went ahead a topped her this morning. Hopefully that'll give the other plants just enough time
to catch up. Four of the plants from the second round of seeds (week two) are growing quite nicely, but the other two are struggling to keep up. One is just a few days behind and the other is just straight deformed, like freakin mutated. I'm going to continue to let the deformed plant grow (hopefully it will be a male) I'd like to make some seeds.. So I'll take every plant I can get. Who knows maybe it'll bounce back.
I have also noticed they are starting to smell today, it's very subtle, but nice. Sweet and skunky image.jpeg

New lights. 5000k cfl's. It's only been a few hours but they seem to be loving it, already seeing all their leaves perk up! image.jpeg

Update: Week 3
From here on out, I will only be following the life cycle of 4 of the plants. A few of them are in new home, so we'll just be focusing on how these plants grow on my balcony. With that said being said, let's check the progress babies!
Day 22
I've transplanted and topped all the plants into #3 pots and they are now sitting on my balcony 24/7. Unfortunately they're too big to all fit in my grow box and my balcony only gets 5 good hours of sunshine. The rest of the day we're in shade, so I guess we'll see. Anyways here they are!image.jpgimage.jpg

image.jpeg Update:
Been a while since my last entry. A lot has changed. My balcony was no longer providing sufficient light. Due to the sun moving further south. So I have decided to bring those plants indoors and flower them in my new 4x4 tent. The plants that have stayed out door (site b) are looking and smelling amazing. About 3rd and 4th week of flower we're in nowimage.jpeg

Final update:
Unfortunately, I had a few things go wrong with both grows.
The indoor plants got spider mites so they were removed from the house and taken to an out side location. Upon arrival to the second location I separated the plants to two different sides of the house, opposite from the non infected plants, obviously.
About two weeks later I got the news a massive storm was headed towards the Portland area, fuck. My 15 gallon plants could survive in the car port, but the 3 gallon plants with sidermites could not, so I made the call and cut them down 3-4 weeks premature... Fuck. Then the worst news of all came... Whilst inspecting one of my larger 15 gallon plants, my og pheno that smells like fruity pebbles, I saw it. Every pnwer's worst nightmare, the rot. There were small traces in several places all around the plant. FUCK!! I had just caught it, but again I made the call to just cut it down in hopes of not infecting my other plant. 4-5 weeks premature..
I now have two plants left. One 15 gallon indoor, kept in veg until about a week ago (10/6/16). And one 15 gallon outdoor, about 4-5 weeks into flower.
So all in all, this was my first grow, it was a huge learning curve, I did a lot of things right, I did a lot of things wrong, I know what I'm going to do differently next time. I'm happy with what I got. A month ago I didn't have any weed to smoke, now I do
Thanks to every body that took a look at my first failed grow hahaimage.jpegimage.jpeg image.jpeg

Do not except clones from other growers. I'm pretty sure that's how I got the mites. Choosing strains better suited for my (or your) climate, ones that flower in September not the end of October, but it was bag seed. So I really didn't have to much of a choice in the matter. Just being more strategic about everything.
I kinda just learned as I went, type deal. Experience through trial and error. It's impossible to know what might happen or go wrong in your first grow, there are just to many things to consider. Especially because you have no idea what to expect, I didn't. Just pay close attention to your plants and you should be good

Btw:
I didn't lose any plants!! I cut them down premature and then cut out the bud rot and surrounding areas. I still made out pretty decent. All things considered. Plus I still have two 15 gallon plants :)
