When i started this grow i decided that in veg i was not going to count by weeks but simply grow
the plants by size so i cant tell you how man days it has been exactly but my seedling doesnt seem to be growing any more, i cant say exactly how long its been but im positive that it has been around a week and its just not growing. It popped iut the soil, grew out its first leaves and then stopped. I dont get it because the seedling doesnt look like it has anything wrong with it but its just not growing. I dont think its ph because i use tap water every grow and its always close-ish to 6ph and has never caused a problem and i just cant think what it could be. I also have a germed seed planted in the pot behind and im pretty sure thats been in there about 4 days and still hasnt properly sprouted. I dont think its the light because its about a foot away from the pots. Temps range from 24 to 30 and i give a light water just to make the soil moist whenever its dried up. The seedling is either reserva privada kandy kush or sweet seeds black jack (accidentally mixed them up) and the other seed i was on about that hasnt sprouted is nirvana white widow.
Someone please help lol

Its fine and how could a seedling be hungry?? its watered the nutrients are provided by the plant the first couple weeks of life. I have had strains specifically this ladyburn that are just notoriously slow but once she made it past 2-3 weeks she hit her stride like the rest.
Wait 2 weeks it will be fine you'll see..that is unless you dumped nutrients on it in which case rip little guy

you should water untill you get some runoff if your only giving small watering then the soil isnt getting fully wet. The goal is when the top layers start to dry the roots will spread down and out in search of the water down lower in the pot that is still there.
If you aren't fully saturating your medium the lower portion will never get watered

I just finished my first coco run. The seedlings did just that. I tried ph, stressed over temp/humidity. As a last resort I fedem :hump:
They were very small but already a few weeks old. I just gave them 1/3rd strength Canna A/B and stand aside jack ^ they went!! Iv'e always been a dirt grower.. I think i read too much Lol.

I think that even though they were small my theory is that they still use their reserves in similar amounts of time ie. there comes a time to feed them independent of size?

By placing a new seedling into it's final big pot you have guaranteed yourself weeks of lost time, eh? When seedlings first go into dirt they spend most all their energy putting down a root system that will support the plant. Your seedlings will sit there for weeks as the roots slowly grow to meet the inside of the pot. AFTER the roots "bottom out" the plant will show the inch-a-day growth that marks vegetative growth. Should have put them in small solo cups or 4 inch pots for the first 7-10 days. That way the roots reach their limit much sooner and start veg. growth much sooner. I will typically put s'lings into a solo cup until the plant is twice as tall as the cup is wide. Then I TP into a 7 inch pot for a couple more weeks of vegging. Then some get TP'd again into 2-3 gallon pots to finish in. Try the 2 TP method and see faster growth. Most beginners end up waiting for weeks for a plant to grow much more root supply than needed. Waste of time, eh? BigSteve.

cant you start in rockwool or root riot? it will be a lot easier to establish them first.

grow in soil so you don't deal with issues
The very hardest thing to grow WELL in is soil .Only master growers should even mess with soil.New growers should grow in hydro or passive hydro and read for a few years before messing with soil.
If you think im kidding you can look at all the new peoples plant problems and guess what..they are all growing in soil.Or you could spend hours upon hours upon hours reading over in the organic section to learn how to grow in dirt.Oh yea..and to grow in dirt is VERY expensive...But the best quality flavors always come out with soil.

I had a feeling it might be to do with this as i had heard that before. My last grow i used cups and they started growing pretty much straight away so it has to be the case now. I dont even know why i put them straight into those pots this time haha its pissed me a little off that im wasting time but as long as nothing is 'wrong' then its fine

Depends on how you do it i guess check out the noob im a believer tea thread these guys are blowing shit out for pennies on the dollar cultivating fungi to put in the bacteria since normally bacteria outgrows the beneficial fungus in a brewed tea.
Now i am by no means even experienced at this but the people who are doing it and teaching have step by steps with recipes that cost almost nothing, while putting my plants to shame.
Though thats another discussion altogether.

This makes no sense whatsoever! Soil is way easier! You can use higher temps, soil is more forgiving, I grow in soil using no meters and have very little problems (when I do they are my fault as I like to experiment).
