second grow: closet cfl/hps

is your light to close to the leaf? cause you werent using nutes yet. and i assume the waterings are about the same plant to plant?

my guess is probably the light was too close, because like you said, no nutes yet, aaaaaaaaand they all get the same water

when i re planted them i filled the bottom of the cup with soil about 1/4th the way and just completly drenched that stuff, then just put dry soil on top so hopefully that will make the roots go searching for that watered shit all the way down on the bottom... just thought id try that technique heard it works reall well.

i cant WAIT till these get bigger, i can just tell there gonna be nice and bushy

also they've been on 24 hours of light non stop

i should probably switch em over to 18/6 soon but im not doing that untill i can figure out how to make it completly dark in the closet, cuz its a double sliding doors that leave huge cracks for light to get in through

anybody got any ideas?

would butting a box with a hole cut in it to help circulate air over all the plants work?

tell me if that soil technique works. it makes plenty of sense. so how long have you been vegging now? i dont really understand what you mean to do with the box. did you want it to circulate air or prevent the light from escaping the closet?

i just need some help keeping it more dark cuz just turning the lights off dosnt work cuz the closet lets in too much light ... i ended up using a bud light box


i just cut the bottom off and taped up the sides, but theres like ventilation holes on the top where the built in handle is... perfect really

but ive concluded that the lights were too close for the plants cuz the tips were getting cinged and crispy

so there officially on 18/6 and i will keep the lights farther away

also i caugt this fucking hyponex soil and i FUCKING hate it hardens into like a cement block and pretty much suffocates the roots so i try to airrate it as much as possible but im definately going with better soil once i put em in there pots

DONT BUY HYPONEX POTTING SOIL

serioulsy better to go with miracle grow if you cant get sum stuff from a garden center

yes hyponex is trash! it does harden,i need new soil for when i plant into a real pot after i transplant! lol HYPNONEX DESERVES TO BESUED! rea the bag it says "this is not made to be used for a growing medium,just a soil.Weare not responsible for any problems you have using this product" lol funniest thing ever

lol i think im gonna try miracle grow organic potting soil next its got a lot less of the stuff that the regular miracle grow has, i really cant find anything else.

also i just found out there IS a hydroponic store somewhat near me, so im def. checking that out soon

So it is what.... July 27 that means its been 15 or 16 days since seed for the first 5 days id say they were on a full 24 but there now on a steady 18/6
the plants are relatively small for how old they are, especially the runt but i don't blame them cuz of all the transplanting i did on em originally tho. but i now have a 6 23w daylight cfl's and 2 26 watt 2700k cfls just for a little full spectrumage

those arent each thats how much they cost together so thats about 50 bucks well say 60 at most w/ tax. you can get everything but the y splitters and some higher quality sockets at wal-mart

for the splitters and sockets go to lowes or home depot
i went to lowes but im sure home depot has em too

now if you dont mind shoplifting then alot of these items are very easy to slip into your pocket and get a little 5 finger discount

not saying i condone this im just saying sometimes when moneys short you do what you gotta do

yea i got my spliter at home depot,and made my socket from a place called Menards,cheaper great hardware kind of store

menards dosnt have chains where i live i checked

ur obviouslly pretty close to me bro! cause Menards r only in a certain area haha tahts pretty sweet,and yea they have alot of shit by me even a already built light with metal hood just need the bulbs for 6 bucks awesome right! im buying that next time
