Roots growin outward not down? Help!!

IS THIS NORMAL MY ROOTS ARNT GROWING DOWN INTO THE WATER LIKE I HAVE BEEN SEEING ON OTHER GROWS INSTEAD THEY GROW OUTWARD AROUND THE NET POT. ROOTS LOOK HEALTHY BUT JUST WONDERING IS THIS SOMETHING I SHOULD LOOK INTO AND WHAT SHOULD I DO ABOUT IT TAKING ALL SUGGESTIONS. CURRENTLY IN VEG LAST WEEK OF IT BEFORE START FLOWER NUTES. USING AN SENSI GROW, HYGROZYME, SUPERTHRIVE, CAL-MAG, DM ZONE, BUD CANDY, & RHINO SKIN :leaf:

How far away are they from the water?
Totally unrelated but I hope that's an insulin syringe being used for insulin.. lol

Those roots look good dude but I know what you mean you are looking for a " root ball" maybe thats just the genetics of your strain your roots look white as hell which is a good thing and they are getting plenty of water which is a good thing .. I say just let it grow ..

Lol yea thats for insulin in the first pic u can see the lil bottle. I knew i was going to catch slack for that lol. But back to business... I wanna say they are about an inch under water. They are in a 18 gal tote with 12 gal of water right now was hoping they would have grown down more so i could drop the water level to 10 gal and save nutes but i dont know whats goin on. Yea i really wanted to see a big root ball right now like others but instead of goin down it just has a big mass around the net pot

Yeah nothing is wrong with your roots they look healthy and white . I dunno first time I seen that too .

Noticed today from after res change yesturday that some of the roots had some slim on it but it wasnt brown and ph went up to 6.7 so adjusted back to 5.8 and whipped off as much as i could dont think its root rot cause roots are still white. Anyone else had this problem or is it nothing to worry bout. Kinda hard to see in pic but if u look close u will see what im talking about
