Rockwool too wet to germ seeds?

I've had great success germinating bagseed using the paper towel method and planting in dirt. I finally dropped 50 bucks on some real beans all fem, G13 Sour AK, SS White Russian, and Dinafem Blue Hash. I soaked in water for 16ish hours, all were sunk, then moved to paper towel until taproots appeared. Seven days ago I planted the seeds in rockwool in my DWC setup (no nutes obviously). Only the sour ak has sprouted and it's growing slow as fuck. I uncovered the others.... pretty sure blue hash is dead 1 cm taproot, and white russian has a 1/2" taproot and is most likely dead too.

Only thing I can think of is too much water/not enough air in the rockwool. It's pretty much always wet. Water level in DWC comes up about 1/4" - 1/2" up the net pot... just enough to wet the hydroton. Rockwool sits on top of 1" of hydroton in the net cup. I was really looking forward to some damn white russian.

i too am going to be doing the same exact thing but i researched it and read to put in rockwool under lights untill they grow a little. its a video i seen on you tube, how to grow chronic. hes doing hydro but i bet you drowned the seeds cause the rockwool absorbed the water and was soaked

You should have placed the planted rockwool under a fluoro in a warm humidome. Once they sprout in that gentle environment, then you plant them in your dwc.

They were under a 150w HPS about 2 feet away at 80-85* F. No humidity dome, but it has been humid as fuck and rainy all week where I live. But yea, prob drowned them, thanks for the tips.
