What is the best RO system you can get for your money? I will eventually be running 4 RDWC systems with one plant and one res, and 2 RDWC systems with 4 plants and 1 res. 5 gal buckets all around. I'm looking for a decent system without spending a huge amount of money. I can set up the systems to change the water on different days so I only need to replace 1/3 of the total water used 3 times per week.

Thanks, I'm considering getting a whole house RO system now after doing my research a little, lol. I have really hard water and it's wreaking havoc on my lines and appliances. Plus, I don't care for tasting nails every time I drink water. I appreciate your input though, maybe I will get one of those for now until I get the whole house system.

I've been considering this Watts Premier 6-stage for $200. (<<link). Two membranes in parallel. An additional sediment filter. A carbon "polish" filter to remove odors.

When it's time to replace the three sediment filters, other (better?) brands can be used. Also, the bowls can be replaced with clear ones so you can see how the sediment filters are loading up. Pressure gauges can be installed which indicate how restricted a filter is. (www.filteresfast.com has all these parts. Their site used to be more navigable. It's kinda bad now. But, if you look hard enough you can find a lot of stuff which can be added to what is a system of standardized components. You can even buy the mounting bracket, individual bowls, filters, etc. and build your own system.).

They have a forum at that site too.

You should also consider a permeate pump. They reduce the back pressure, allowing you to store more water under higher pressure. I've read it can also increase the life of the membrane. Produces less waste water per gallon of filtered water. There's a way to connect one to multiple membranes in parallel. See attached.
