Revegging... Yay or Nay?

I wanted to start this thread to get a discussion going about revegging. i.e. you don't kill the plant at harvest, you just chop off the top branches, leaving some leaves and nodes and re-vegetating it, and then of course eventually flowering it again.

I have done this several times with good results. But I rarely hear about anyone else doing this and some people shun it. So I would like to hear from some pros about why revegging is not a commonly accepted practice, and anyone else who has tried it before!

Hiya m3d1c1n3man, I've tried once before with some Lemon(Bagseed) Didn't show any signs of Growth after a month or so, I put it down to in-experience(something I did OR didn't do) So trying again and this time I think I've got it Right??(could be wrong) but so far so good...

This is My Samsara Green Love Potion on 3rd Wk

Now she looking a bit Freaky Deaky @ the moment, but I've read this is quite common? Also noticed a LOT of New Growth from the bottom of Plant...

I think it maybe worked this time because of better Genetics and because I left a bit more "Popcorn" Bud on the plant.

Peace

I'm doing this because I didn't take Clones and she smells and tastes Beautiful!!

Quick Question: Anyone know what happens to the Nugs you leave on the plant, say after so many weeks and new growth, can you chop em off, or must you leave em be...

Few views but No new posts...

Peace

Ive done this and its pretty fun to watch. The bud dries and crumbles off and new growth will emerge from former bud sites, you should leave the lower popcorn bud in place. Be warned however as I noticed her clones had a tendency to hermie, really only do this if its necessary.

around 3rd week of flower then you take a clone and reveg. waiting till it has a big bud is overkill. the whole purpose is you know the sex and now want a clone.

looks like that plant has some healthy new growth, which is all you want. Yea it will have odd looking leaves at first, but goes back to normal after a few weeks. Personally I would chop off any buds of reasonable size and just leave little heads and nodes. In my experience it reveges better from tiny bud sites than from well established buds. But yea if a new shoot veges out of a bud, you can come back once the stem is strong and CAREFULLY remove some of the old bud from around the stem, I have done that before but there is a chance you will weaken that part of the stem if you're not careful.

I could never get a clone to root when taken during the flowering stage. I have heard it's best to take the clone during vegetation, and mark it so you know which plant it came from, then flower the plants to determine sex and find the right clone to match the plant you want.

But the whole point of this revegging method is that you don't need to mess with clones, you can just veg and flower the same plant over and over.

LOL...."Freaky Deaky" is putting it mildly!! I revegged some clones taken about 3 to four weeks into flower and was in no way prepared for the crazy assed growth the plants went through before they started looking normal again:

It took a bit over 2 months before she started growing out "normal" growth, but it happened with no apparent side effects. I was able to clone them normally after they completely revegged.
I just put flowering clones under a low wattage floro unit, kept them moist, and didnt feed.
