red or blue CFL lamps

getting a 125 watt cfl lamp for our 2 plants. there both into a week of flowering and they have been under a miserable 18 watt lamp but have grown well.
theres a blue lamp for veg stage and red lamp specially for flowering plants. is it right to get this red lamp for flowering our 2 plants?

Yeah, sort of! "Red" and "Blue" are pretty general terms - look for 2,700 K (red) for flowering and 6,500 K (blue) for vegging - these specific "Kelvin color temperature" ratings will give you the precise spectrum you want for each stage of growth. Manufacterers use terms like "Warm White" and "Daylight", but even these terms can be misleading because there is no standard spectrum for these terms in the industry (Daylight can be 6,500 K to one brand and only 5,000 K to another - big difference!).

My policy is, if it doesn't have a proper K-rating on the packaging - I wont buy it!

Im with TH. If it doesnt give the K rating on the package. I wont buy it either. Use as much cfl lighting as you can. The flowers will only be better!

cheers guys. this lamp has a 100 percent PAR(photosynthetically active radiation) high output. generating non excessive heat. what do you think?

Ok! For Envirolites, I would probably make an exception to my policy! I'm not in the UK, but I've heard nothing but good things about Envirolites. They're made especially for growing plants! I'm pretty sure that they are the right spectrum, lots of folks use them with good results! Cheerio, mate!
