So this is my first post. Just wanted to see if anyone knows about drying inside without an odor? Im staying at my girlfriends house and need to be able to dry my crop without smell! I cut my plant today and trimmed off the leaves, i bought a large storage bin, pretty flat but really long and the buds fit nice. I wanted to use silica gel but couldnt find it anywhere!!! All i could get was damprid. Is there anything to worry about while im using this? any suggestiongs would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!:weed:

i put them in there afterwards yea i put down some fiberglass screen thinkin it would allow the moisture to come off of the buds a little more evenly.

Probably a good bet you'll end up with some mold. You should really either hang them (if on stems) or set them out on a drying screen where there is plenty fresh air circulating. Do you have a closet that you can hang them in and set up a fan nearby (not blowing right on them, that will make them crispy and harsh to smoke)?

Once they are dry enough to go into the bins for curing toss a slice of lemon or orange in the bin a week before finish. This will offset the possibility of a plasticy taste from curing in the bins.

and then into glass jars for cure . you cannot have the smell for a few days ?? if not buy one of those carbon filter drying machines off of ebay

I guess that your girlfriends mother/father must be ok with the idea. Otherwise if he or she is helping you out by letting you stay in their house and you are planning on bringing a substance into their home, in some states that would be cause for seizure of the property. Do the right thing... or the pot gods will fuck you.

nice dryer! im thinking the setup that i have migt actually work i checked on them midday today and i found a little spot of mold im thinking i got rid of it tho and i took a hairdryer on low and held it about 18 inches away from the buds as i was putting them back in the bin to get a little warm air on them. I was expecting some mold because it rained yesterday so they were a little moist when i put them in they seem to be getting a little dryer now tho. how long should i be worried about mold? and i actually might be able to hang them up soon my girlfriends dad smelled it today and said i was doing it wrong, that they needed hung up and i asked for a spot to do that :) !!!!

To get the most...let them dry for 5-7 days. the outside of the buds will be dry enough to sample around Day 5. To check to see if they are finished with the drying process (around Day 7) bend the stem below the bud, if it snaps instead of folding over they are ready to go to the cure process.

ok that's what I planned on doing :) only other thing for now is that I hung them in a garage I think it'll b perfect for drying but it smells like a garage sort of like gasoline. So will the weed smell like gas or will the sweet smell overpower the gas? I though about putting them in a bag with oranges before curing good idea?

ok so i got home from work today and went to check on the buds. Look awesome!! They're looking good and so much stickier. I was planning on trimming the leaves up today. I trimmed the fan leaves and some of the smaller leaves off on sat when i harvested but left a lot of the small leaves on the buds. Today they were all dried up and hard to trim off. I was worried about damaging the hairs and crystals. Should i be worried about that or are there plenty? I was thinking that as the buds dry they would get smaller and the leaves would be easier to trim? Am i right? Should i just wait a little longer to trim the leaves? And will they absorb the smell of the gas in the garage? Thanks!!!

True. How about trimming the smaller leaves? Will it b easier maybe today or tomorow? It was so sticky shit was sticking everywhere. And I don't wanna hurt the buds!!

to trim as much leave material as you can the day of harvest. Get a good pair of pruning sheers that are retractable and get in their and cut them out. If you feel like you are cutting bud release the handle , tada !!
Hope this helps ???

ive found its easier to fully trim them right after chopping. so once theyre dried, their may be minimal trimmed, but for the most part you cut them so they fit in the jars,
