Question on WaterFarms

This upcoming year I'll be doing my first indoor grows ever and I wanted to do hydroponics since I've always gone the soil route but more importantly with a space of 2' by 2.5' using a waterfarm in a scrog setup seems primo for the space I have. Thing is..with work I'm sometimes not home for three/four days at a time. Is it possible to run a waterfarm without being there every day to adjust/take care of something?

I'll be using a 1000 watt led light in this tent that perfectly fits so that the whole canopy will be lit. I'm stoked to get started on this but wanted to know from more experienced waterfarm farmers if I'll be able to achieve this when some weeks Im gone a majority of the time.

Maybe a reservoir type of thing to keep the waterfarm stocked with nutes/water? Idk but I'd love to hear your thoughts

Peace and happy growing

I use the waterfarm system, I use 5 gal buckets with the GH kit and the netcup. During veg you can get away with leaving them for a few days, but during flower they drink heavy and I have to check my buckets everyday. If your going to be away I would definitely look into a reservoir setup.

Thanks for stoppin by man. Yeah for sure I was thinking i would need a reservoir setup too. Have any experience with this? Also could I keep the res in the grow tent with the plant granted it's a pretty small tent and a scrog style grow?

Water temps need to be 64-68*F. If you can't keep that temp on your own, you'll need to buy a chiller. Hydroponics and Water Chillers go hand in hand IMO. Also, get some 29% h2o2 from NutriLife and use it as it says (3ml/gal)to help keep things clean.

yep I'll be buying a chiller. Are they noisy? Noise is my biggest concern with my indoor op. Good info on h202. But you think it's doable to run a scrog waterfarm when some days I won't be there to check ppm or whateverthefuck?

Also its probably worth noting the space gets fucking freezing in the winter (no insulation) so I'll need to run a small portable heater with a thermostat to keep the room in check. I hope this works you think it will? Lol I have no idea but I'm hopeful I really wanna grow indoors this winter bro:bigjoint:

Check out my grow in my signature. Get a General Hydroponics reservoir, I think they are 14 gallon total. https://www.nwgsupply.com/gh-controller-complete.html?utm_source=google_shopping&gclid=Cj0KEQjw57W9BRDM9_a-2vWJ68EBEiQAwPNFK-M68Fg8NFwDJhRZ3LzBYTGLAQqRpVygZtjW-gNLylQaApZA8P8HAQ

I use one of those for four waterfarms and I am on day 42 of flower and I still only need to check it every 5 days. I have another reservoir that I will be using so I can split the four into sets of two with their own water supply. But that will be next grow.

Not too loud bro. What kind of air pump do you use? Cause commercial ones are loud as FUCK. you have a pond master or air force?

Word, great info my man. Those seem pretty big and tall..you think I could have on inside the grow tent with a space of 2' by 2.5'? I need all the space I can get to optimize my current space..maybe have it outside the tent? Thanks again I'll check out your grow

Don't have any of the materials yet bro. What pump would you recommend? Also, knowing that my room is cold as fuck during winter you think I really need a chiller? I feel I may even need a heater to keep the res at 64-68. Thanks for the info man appreciate you

I guess you'll need to find out for yourself. But I promise, pumping air Into your buckets will raise the temp.

So don't pump air into them, waterfall effect or I use a fountain type setup that sprays water against the lid but as AW says get a chiller if doing a flooded root system, it saves a whole lot of butt hurt :).

Recirculating Deep Water Culture. 1/2" supply line from res to all 9 buckets in a waterfall. Then gravity brings water back to the res through 1" return lines at the bottoms.
