If you give plenty of veg time for your plant to recover, you can look into Supercropping, which can be done by Pinching branches.. If you wish to increase yield with pruning. that is simply going to need time to grow, no way around it. Do not just prune several growing tips & throw it into bloom. If you want to prune for yield you wanna give the plant time to create the new shoots & become a nice vigorous plant.

So if your asking if you can "cut/pinch" your plant to improve yield, yes you can. But know that it also requires more Veg time for the plant to recover. It is not as easy as chopping off growing tips or pinching branches on day 1 of 12/12.. that will not help you.

It keeps my plant short at the end of veg, by the time shes recovered fully little height has been gained and shes fully flowering, branches are thicker meaning bigger bud mass and since i use big cfls i hav only a short distance of light to bud in before it gets too weak. I started of just doing a normal pinch but before long you just deform branches and half snap them. I am discontinuing this method soon when i move to Hps.

That and she looked at me the wrong way.

Fan leaves are what give the buds the energy to grow.. I would not cut a fan leaf off even if it shaded the frostiest nugs.. :)
maybe move it out the way if you can, tuck it under... but never cut.

No, fan leaves are your engines, they make growth, cut them off and cut your yeild down.

I never met a fan leaf i couldnt bend out of the way or pin behind another leaf to allow light past, if there really is no alternative then you have to cut it if its shading a decent bud but i would ask why it wasnt possible to simply tuck out of the way somehow. Peace

Its called simply pinching, pinch the branch till one side gives thats all. I take it a little futher, more mutilation but see where i mutilated my plant and it had to stop and repair itself and made some fat branching at the break plus the internode distance (distance from branch to branch) is also very short because of it. Takes a while to get the feel for it but marijuana is like a mini hospital and fixes all but the most severe breaks and bends. This subject is well documented here at Rollitup in a lot of threads, just search pinching and Lst for more examples of what is done. Peace

trimming all your branches off would make all the energy go straight to the top bud and itd grow as big as your forearm, you could probably get over a half ounce out of a top bud if it were to be vegged to a foot and a half. and itd save you a shit ton time when manicuring your buds.

but dont take off fan leaves unless theres too many in the same place and its not light efficient, otherwise theyre your plants solar panels so keep as many as you can. im pretty sure they help at the end of flower too when they're starting to yellow all their energy is going into developing the buds.
