possible Magnesium deficiency

Lights: 250watts cfl
1 gallon pots
strain: Lemon Kush
Veg Day: 27
Grow medium: soil (scotts garden soil and perlite)
I water with distilled water at ph 6.5
I use fox farms grow big and big bloom. I have only fed once at 1/4 strength. I have looked at lots of pics and my newb guess would be a mag deficiency? They where also topped at 2nd true node and are probably due for a transplant which I will do tomorrow. Please help me fix my issues. Many thanks in advance.

It looks more like Manganese def. !
For Magnesium :
It is very important to maintain a proper pH in order to avoid a magnesium deficiency. Adding more magnesium to a system when there is a pH lock-out will only make the situation worse because the plant will not be able to absorb any magnesium until the pH has been corrected. Flush the system with properly pH'ed water that contains a full set of proper nutrients and see if the new growth starts looking healthier.
For Manganese :
Manganese deficiencies are often caused by a pH that is too high, or if the plant is getting too much iron. If you have a manganese deficiency in soil, try to correct pH to 6.0 - 6.5l. In hydro, correct pH to 5.5 - 6.0. You are looking to avoid higher pH ranges, as this is where manganese deficiencies are most likely to occur.
Flush your system with clean, pH'd water that contains about half the correct amount of nutrients needed by the plant. Watch to make sure that the problem starts to clear up within a couple of days.

PS : Iron Def. is too similar to Mag. Def. !!!

Make sure your ph is right. I think I had this problem on my first grow. I used CalMag during each of my waterings (25% recommended dose) and it worked pretty well.

CalMag is typically safe for your plants as long as you don't overdo it.

IMO- Your leafs on the left in your pic look like the start of a calcium deficiency. the leaf edges are starting to yellow.

Thank you all. I will double check my runoff ph. I will also invest in some cal-mag and give that a try

You are most likely correct indikat, I moved them to 5 gal pots today and they where very root bound that was not helping anything. I watered them with tap water to corrected 6.5 ph today. should I just go ahead and give them some nutes and rewater tomorrow or wait again until next watering as now they have some new soil to feed off of?

I would feed/water again ASAP. Just add 1 part hydrogen peroxide to 3 parts water/nutrients. This will help prevent your roots from suffocating. DO NOT DO THIS IF YOU RELY ON MICRO-ORGANISMS in your soil. If you don't know what I'm talking about, then you don't, so don't worry about it.

I think indikat has it right, bump up all the food now to at least 1/2 strength, get Calmag and follow the directions for emergency treatment. I would feed every watering, as they need a LOT of food now at this stage. Peace

Honestly, it could be the distilled water... it lacks the normal calcium and alcolides that are needed. You will need a supplement and possibly a ph adjustment. its really hard to lock out mag tho... it could even be iron deff. but, IMO it looks like mag. good luck

I have since ordered CaMg and switched to well water in the meantime. I gave them their feeding yesterday when I got home from work. Checked and made sure drainage went well. We will see how it goes. I will post up pics in a few days to show if they are reacting better.Thank you everyone for the help.

Everyone, Thank you for the advice, After moving my plants to the 5gal buckets, and feeding them I have seen a very noticeable amount of growth. It looks healthy as well. I will just have to trim off the yellow fan leaves now.

Thank you,

So, since Jimdamick suggested I feed 1/2 strength every watering whats everyone's opinion on this? I have always read every other watering to feed or two waterings to one feeding. Would love more opinions/advice about this. Thank you.
