Its supposed to be 200-400ppm at a ph of 8. I get 150-200 at a ph of 7/7.5. I notice when it rains, my ph goes down and ppm goes up. Not very stable where i live, compared to where i used to live. Still getting the hang of checking ppm/ph run off every other day. Thanks for the advice though, however my problem did not go away with crushed eggshells and epsom salts. Boric acid did the trick for me. No more orange new growth so far. I will admit though my ffof is 8 weeks old and i use eggshell/epsom salt 3 times since veg. Probably not much available macro compounds left in the soil.According to General Hydroponics, if your ppm is under 200, then it's not enough. that 150-200 range may not have enough calcium and Magnesium to balance your FF nutes. GH says your water should have at least 70 ppm calcium for it to be fine for the plants so you might not get enough micros from your tap. My ppm is around 300 so I know there's plenty in there for my baby. Hawaii might also have a water analysis site where you can look up what's in your tap.
