Plz need advice on setting up grow tent and exaust

I just ordered a 4x4x7 grow tent and i already have a 400 watt hps. My questions are if i want to grow 8 -10 plants at a time should i stay with my 400 or go bigger? And whats a good priced blower and carbon filter to get and where to buy? What cfm would be great for the grow tent and light for that? Also how should i set up the exaust system? also, whats the best organic soil nute to get? Sorry for all the questions, but there greatly appreciated. Please only experienced growers. Should I also get a speed control for the blower fan and can i just use 4 in computer fans at the bottom of the tent for intake?? THankx again!!!

cure.. id go on ebay and get a 6'' inline fan and filter combo and get a speed controller. air exchange is so important or youll have temp issues. a 6'' is overkill eith out a speed controller but itll allow you to upgrade to a 600w later if you choose. a 400w is not enough lumens for 8-10 IMO to get a decent yeild per sqft per watt. id got with 4 or 5 monsters instead. thanks seanec, I figured I'd go with 4 or5. What if I did sog though? Just flower them when the clones are rooted? I don't know, never done it. I did order a 6 in blower and 4 in. Can fan. They were out of six inch. I also ordered another 400 watter. I figured I would put one on each side with 4 plants under each one. That way I can leave an aisle to walk through. Think that'll be cool? Also can I get 1 mom plant, 8 veg plants, and 8 clones under a 4 bulb t5 light just for veggn? And you ever used iguana juice?

Just go down to radio shack and get yourself 4 4 in. pc fans, get some ducting at home depot, duct tape/zip ties and save yourself the money. Then search on this forum and make yourself a carbon filter for around 20 bucks and save yourself the 200 bucks they will charge you for the same thing. Total cost 60 bucks or so for it all and save around 300 dollars.

what cfm is the blower?? ya its up to you now that your running 800w. personally id get a 4ft 2x4 and put both lights on it with the bulbs facing eachother so its kinda like one light just 2 bulbs , just make sure you keep the ballasts outside the tent, if i were you id put 4-5 under each in veg for atleast 3 weeks. thats strain dependant tho. i would fill that tent up as much as possible vertically wise. if you wanna do SOG you can do prob 8 under each light. you can try either way for your first time and see how it goes. easy access to all the plants makes thing ALOT easier for you in tents tho. as far as veg you should be ok under the t5 but are you vegging in a separate tent or room? and how do you plan on cloning? personally ive only used earth juice microblast as a deficiency aid, but they make a solid product so iguana juice should be ok. also id get 2 small wall clip oscillating fans for each side. altogether it sounds like you got the equipment to make a bangin tent.

You should check my sig at the bottom of my post.... I have an area of 4x4x5 and have 6 plants under my 400w.... they are entirely to big for the light I would say a 400w is good to cover about 3x3. I have been vegging for 8 weeks though....so thats a HUGE difference..... Id say start small and work ur way up... Keep track of everything so you can go back and make corrections and all...... You'll never know until you try it for yourself......

sounds good, but one of my 400s is a built in type hood. Can I just pull the ballast out with the socket and wires? Or do I need to do some rewiring? I might run a y in my duct, with the open ends close to the lamps then y to the carbon filter then to blower and on out of tent. I have a different veg room, using olivias and those t5s. I'm gonna try to keep the moms, veg plants, and clones under t5s. If that tents to hot I ll just use my other 400 mh for the veg room. I don't know I been happy with the floraseries and some bloom oosters in the past. But thanks I'll keep you updated. Thanks again
