Please naming this bug eggs? nest? Or what?

To my noob eyes, it looks like a spider's egg sac.

I mean, this plant is an outdoor plant, so I would guess that bugs are a fairly frequent hitchhiker. Predators are probably welcome, mostly at least.
 
Cut the leaf off, take it to a well lit, safe, and clean place, then cut it open to inspect it... with a loupe or other magnifying glass to inspect closer?
 
i can’t tell if there are lots of eggs in there or not as it’s not clear enough but I’ve seen mealy bugs lay similar looking sacks.
