Please Help Picking First LED

I emailed Apache Tech today regarding the AT200. They promptly emailed me back. Customer service seems great, as I exchanged several emails today with them.

Of course, they said the AT200 would be GREAT for my 32" x 32" x 60" tent. Do you all think it will adequately flower MJ plants in that space?

They sent me a coupon code for ordering, but I'm not sure how much the discount is.

I'm kinda excited.

Here is what Apache Tech rep Robert Becker wrote to me, when I asked if the AT200 would flower a 32" x 32" x 60" tent:

"yes, the AT200 will be a good fit for your application. The AT200 will be comparable to a 600W HID light and have the same output and similar footprint. I have attached a few light "footprints". I would recommend our R2 pattern, which is a multispectral white chip with a two bands of red for enhanced flowering. Our lights are designed to be used as a stand alone light source. Once you have a well rooted cutting/seedling, you can place the plant(s) under this spectrum and you can grow successfully through harvest."

The AT200 will be fine for the 3x3. There is a journal on here by Scotch you can check out, pretty sure he ran his solo in a 3'x3' tent. My last grow was with an AT120, AT200 and Area 51 SGS160 in a 3'x3' but with just the AT200 turned on it definitely covered the whole area.

Yep, my plants are exploding under an LED panel. A couple sativas need to be dealt with now, I should have gone 12/12 already.

I'm not sorry I went with LEDs, although my first was a very cheap china that I used for 3 weeks and then sold it for scrap prices.

Yikes, surprised they would say this. So their at600(680watts?) which is 4 at200 stuck together is a 1000w hps replacement, but 1 at 200 is a 600w hps replacement?????? seems a little "fuzzy" to me:eyesmoke:......It is a great panel though and I think it will do just fine for your area.



fuck it every led company exaggerates anyways, they tend to forget what REAL yields HID's get....

I'm just so tired of dealing with HPS heat and ventilation requirements, especially since summer is approaching.

I'm a small, personal grower who grows only for my wife and I. I don't need huge yields. But I do value maximum potency, which I understand is controlled mainly by genetics. My understanding is that the potency of a LED grow is the same as that of a HPS grow, as long as all other factors are about equal.

Brother P Theirs Alot More fuzzyness To Apache Tech Than Meet The Eye.I Mean I Researched Nasa Aims Facitity Archives, Nasa Houston And The Cape And The Only Mention Of The Name Apache Come froms the archives At Aims Where The Apache Group Bought Some Software??????I Love Researching Collegiate Thesis's On Growing And I Would Love To Read Nasa's Research On Apache Tech Spectrum And Why The White To Red Ratio's Were The Best Over The Blue And Reds And The All White Specturms.Maybe Brother GreenGenes Can Point Me In The Right Direction :shock:

Yes it's all about genetics when dealing with potency. Lighting? Meh, maybe or maybe not.......UV b seems to show some improvements, not proven though. I would be more concerned about chopping early than the light tech the girls are under:-)

Also, it's hard to find a one light fits all without 'some' compromise.

Like you I m a personal use grower.

I chose spectrums for the BML SPYDR (on extended loan) to see whether one light can work well for both veg and flower.

Thankfully, my budget is solid. I usually save and buy good equipment. I can afford a good setup.

Currently, I have 2 grow "rooms". One is a 32" x 32" x 60" tent. The other is a 3'8" x 3'8" x 8' closet. Both these grow rooms are active. I use the tent for seeds thru veg (T5 lighting). I use the closet for flowering under 600-watt HPS.

I want to make the tent usable for flowering. I tried a 400-watt HPS in there, but the heat soared too much. And a 250-watt HPS is too weak to cover that space. Which got me to thinking about LEDs.

If the LED works well in the tent, I'll be looking to upgrade the closet to LED as well. And sell all my HID lighting equipment.

I did some research and found Apache and Area 51. The Apache AT200 really interests me. I know it could cover the tent. But probably not the closet.

If you have time, please explain a bit about the compromise you spoke of. Is this compromise kinda the same as using only MH to veg, and only HPS to flower, instead of using them both together during veg and flower? I see some people are using both these days in veg and flower to get a "fuller" spectrum.

WW, so far I am very happy with my BML SPYDR

It's only been in since late Thursday, but the budding is going gangbusters,

not that it was lagging before

SPYDR can be ordered with any spectrum combination you want

so it seems to improve on my 432w HOT5, with slightly less heat
