Plagiarism

For those that smoked too much dope in school that [plagiarism] means to copy without credit.
I have 2 books "Gardening Indoors with Soil & Hydropnics" by Van Patten. Plus Cervantes' Indoor Marijuana Horticulture". I noticed some very similar passages.
ie. Patten's [page 19]
"when a seed sprouts the white taproot emerges. Soon afterward the cotyledon, also known as seed or seedling leaf, appears. The seed leaves spread out...."
Cervantes' [page 260]
"When a seed sprouts, the white taproot emerges and soon afterward the cotyledon or seed or seedling leaves appear. The seed leaves spread out...."
There are many other examples I could quote, but using 1 finger to type it takes too long and I have to go to work!!

which was published first?
Cervantes. So Patten did the copying. This is not nitpicking there strong similarities in whole chapters.
Cervantes.
HID are bright, very bright. Growers who manage the intense brightness of HIDs properly harvest more weed per watt. Intensity is the magnitude....
Patten.
High Intensity Discharge lamps are bright - very bright. Gardeners who properly manage the intense brightness have a higher harvest per watt. Intensity is the magnitude....
