There is a lot of anger and hatred in this thread and some of it I understand.
Politicians will not factor us in for one simple reason. We as a constituency cannot put together enough money to make it worthwhile to take such a risk with today's insane news coverage by the MSM--and I include Fox News in that group.
If I get one more anti-Obama junk email I am going to fucking vote for him.
So, who can put together the kind of kwan that gets noticed? Private special interest groups that represent patients and other kinds of people--the people some of you hate. These people want to make money. New money from new markets.
Their "greed" will drive the age old capitalist need for freedom. Freedom to consume cannabis in this case means lobbying dollars to win congressmen one by one. Freedom of speech ('corporate lobbying') plus capitalism equal a win for patients.
Ironic how the very thing we despise is the only thing that can get us from criminal to 'kush'.
